Lashlee Failed His Players

your reading comprehension is poor. the recruits were long gone from the sidelines when the second tot he last possession of the game occurred. not sure you know how football works and the sequence of events. let me know if you need some elaboration.
Yeah because the recruits were one section from 128... so please tell me about my comprehension. This is where the excuses start. Like anyone pulling this crap cares about recruits. Its literally the opposite of caring about recruits. Your screaming at the guys who the recruits are forming relationships with.

We’ve scored 103 points with a freshman making his first three starts.

This place is definitely worse after wins than losses.
With respect, you are skirting a specific issue by invoking a generality. OP makes a valid point and that point is worth discussing.

Lashlee's bizarre proclivity to going into a shell and playing tentative gutless and scared football greatly diminishes this offenses chances for success on far too many possessions. His play calling right before the half and on our second to last drive in the 4th are perfect examples of this. While I can understand and even appreciate that discretion can be the better part of valor, that isn't really the case here. The examples I cited above are symptoms of the diseased philosophy that is the very core of the Diaz regime. It is the overarching philosophy and mindset that left unchecked will undermine anything and everything productive and positive that this coaching staff and team tries to accomplish and it is very simple yet deadly.

Contrary to what the slick aggressive yet gimmicky window dressing Diaz puts up is supposed to have us believe, literally everything Diaz does is based on the philosophy of PLAYING NOT TO LOSE. Ultimately it is this reality that will prevent him from ever having any success here or anywhere else for that matter no matter how much more X's and O's he masters, how many 4 and 5 stars he recruits or how many great assistant coaches he hires.

We still can’t run the football. You’d think we could pick up a 3rd and short running it, but it’s not happening. I’m not an X and O guy, but with our OL, he may have to run some draws.

Not a fan of rooster running it up the middle. In
the 2nd half, he had noodle legs on one of the drives and was obviously spent. Need to get Cody Brown in there for more than a drive to maintain Knighton’s explosiveness.

Also, please let us see more Arroyo.

If you were anywhere near Sec 148 after the second to the last possession of the game, you heard someone yelling at the top of his lungs "Lashlee, you failed your players. They deserve better:" Repeatedly. And loud. Some starting OL players sitting on the bench turned around and so did a few support staff. Lashlee heard the guy, moved closer to the field and hid and kneeled behind a few support guys.

On at least two separate occasions he betrayed and failed his players this game. On the final possession of the first half with two timeouts in his pocket and with TVD moving the ball well and the ball at the twenty, he runs the ball on second and third down with inside zone runs and doesn't get the first down. We punt, they go on score and take the lead (manny gifted them a TO). Awful.

On the second to the final possession of the game, on first down and with 8 guys in the box he calls an absurd run play that causes TVD to fall down and lose 3. On second and 13, with 8 guys in the box he calls a stupid pass play to Knighton who loses 4. Now its third and 17. Of course on third down he runs again for two yards. Now we are punting from the back of the endzone. Awful.

The team that loses aggression loses the game. He should have learned that a long time ago.
It was you, wasn't it?

Recruits were in Section 105 during NC State

What's weird about Lashlee is he'll be super aggressive on one possession and then on the next possession he's an overly conservative, passive little *****. It's like he suffers from schizophrenia or something.
He suffers from the same syndrome that Danny Miaz does. It’s known as SGITR syndrome.

Most great OC’s keep on attacking a defense’s weaknesses until said DC can stop it.

For example, Rooster was a matchup nightmare for them coming out of the backfield as a WR. Even the color analyst said it multiple times, but after the touchdown pass from TVD in the first half, he didn’t use him as a receiver out in space.

Lashlee doesn’t seem to follow this philosophy.

Agreed. He doesn't stick with what works. For some bizarre reason, Lashlee STILL thinks we can be successful as a power running team, although he finally started to call less runs up the middle against NC State.

After 1 1/2 seasons of being here, you would think that he’d have a good feel for the what his OL and offense can and cannot do well.

It’s mind boggling, to say the least. His 2-minute offense this last game was mostly atrocious. Was extremely fortunate that Mallory was left so open on 3rd and long on the last drive, and that TVD threw a dime.

If he would have been a little more aggressive on 1st and 2nd down, we wouldn’t have needed to pull a rabbit out of a hat at the end, which is exactly what happened.

What was Knighton, TVD and Rambos numbers against. N.C STATE? I just want to know since he " failed his players "

Exactly! Get Franklin and Brown involved! Just because Knighton is flirting with stardom doesn't mean you just ignore the other 2. Those other 2 RBs are very talented. It will keep Rooster fresh and keep defenses off balance.

This was a mixed bag for Lash. For a lot of the game, I thought he made some really nice calls. They stretched the field more, used the middle of the field more, he gave TVD some nice/safe plays on important downs, etc. OTOH, his 2-4 min offense is dreadful.

Same wine, different bottle.

As if this board wasn’t incoherent enough here come the random bump ups
