Half the kids in SFL fux w Miami or thinks we’re alright, the other half has absolutely no respect for us or clowns us, just the nature of our city. We haven’t exactly given em anything to be blindly loyal to either

Kid has always been a Tiger. Just used us, aTm and Texas, some of the biggest NIL brands in the game, to up the ante
Translation: match what Miami and Texas offered and add a little more to offset the no state income tax of Texas and Florida and give me a $100k bonus to “lock in” and you’ll have my commitment.

Cue the attorneys.

As you well know, the attorneys can sue for anything they want.

But a UNANIMOUS Supreme Court approved the use of a balancing test. And the evidentiary record the NCAA can present post-House-settlement, complete with the backong of the largest accounting firm in the world reviewing all the NIL deals for sham characteristics, is going to be a LOT more robust and supportive than what was presented in Alston.

This **** is about to get reeeeeal interesting.

Anyone with a half a ******* braincell knew this guy was not coming here. Not sure why you guys torture yourselves every crootin season.
I agree with you, but your statements means the following people lack even half a brain cell;
Mario Cristobal
@DMoney
@Peter Ariz
@1murhurricane

Now you may be correct about them, but I would submit that 3 of them made public comments about the viability of Brown committing to UM because the 4th person (or someone close to him), gave them confidence in what they were telling us.

Which makes me wonder if the UM coaches are really not in tune with how many of the top rated recruits feel, and they are passing on that bad information to the people who give us information. Which makes me wonder whether we should all take a step back from making recruiting predictions. I’m not here to blame anyone, but I have to admit to being disappointed as much with the predictions as with the out-of-touch coaches.

What exactly is the point of hyping recruits who are so, so unlikely to come to UM?

The parameters make sense, and it was what NIL was intended to be; the ability for athletes to profit from their Name, Image and Likeness.

The problem, IMO, is if this group of people deny deals because they don’t believe the deal is for fair market value.

Well, so far, I'm hearing that the term is "no valid business purpose". Which is a ground on which the IRS can deny a deduction. As opposed to making it solely a battle for valuation.

It's...interesting...I'll be fascinated to see how it is defended in court.
