Kurt Hester

S&C in College football is an incestuous game. In general, new coaches will bring someone they've worked with before because they are familiar with them. His philosophy looks fairly sound.

Part Dog Bounty Hunter. Part Miami Vice. Toss in some Crazy Cajun. Add his experience and knowledge. Come on down, lock our Mofos in the weight room, then let em eat. Hope he's as crazed as Bama dude. Just win!

Kurt Hester is the head strength and conditioning coach at Louisiana Tech. Prior to that, he served as D1’s director of training. In addition, he is an active strength and speed consultant for Florida State, Tennessee, Illinois, Ole Miss, Alabama, Nicholls State, Grambling State and Miami. Prior to D1, Hester ran and owned HS2 Athletic Performance in New Orleans, where he turned out more than 400 collegiate scholarship athletes and trained more than 50 NFL Draft picks. He also trained numerous MLB Draft picks, high school All-Americans, state championship teams and collegiate national track & field finalists. A graduate of Tulane University, Hester was inducted into the Strength Coach Hall of Fame, and he holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, United States Weightlifting and the Speed, Agility and Conditioning Association.

Also a good question. If he was so great, wouldn’t he already accepted a bigger job at SEC school for a much higher salary?

Or maybe he just likes being home, seems like the type. However if he does sign on to be a coach here, it more than likely wont be about the money, or the school or diaz, i just think the gator population will be going down, this guy will more than likely set up a tent in Okeechobee, probably wont by a house!

So he was gone from LSU before Moffet got there and transformed their SC into what we used to be and what LSU is now? What makes him a home run hire

I like the look and feel of him....I just don't understand how someone so accomplished and respected can be a LTech (at this point in his career).
It isn't like he's 32 and an up and comer.....

According to his bio, he worked mainly with the baseball team, which was really good then.

Built Skip Bertman’s guerilla baseball teams in the 90s.

Highly respect strength coach. We need him.

Not every talented human being works at these big schools. And he’s from Louisiana so it would make sense that he’d be at La Tech. His resume speaks for itself. They’re regularly putting guys in the draft and the league. Or, on the flip side you had Gus Felder come out of Georgia and that didn’t go too well.

Dunno boys. Kurt just tweeted this. #6peat. Hopefully he's just playing good soldier to his current employer.

Too many people focusing on being at LA Tech rather than looking at his total body of work with NFL, MLB, NBA etc. Plus his business was based in New Orleans so maybe he didn't want a "higher profile" job at the time. His resume is absolutely high profile. Great hire if/when it happens
