Knighton is legit

Can we get some love for Rooster. Fast, quick cuts and ran hard.
That run after catch was the fastest I've seen a UM player move since Jeff Thomas' punt return against V-Tech.
We should run for 150 yards every game. Boy it would have been nice to have Chaney available.
The only thing that doesn't make him elite he doesn't have that super get off....but once he gets going and in a straight line he can cut between and make u look foolish while still sprinting. He's basically Duke 2.0 but faster. Just lacks that quick burst that initial burst. If he had that he prolly wouldn't be in orange n green lol.

It’s too bad Harris had to injure himself to allow rooster to move up the seniority list and get on the field.

RB is absolutely a position where you need to get some carries and get into the flow of the game.

Rooster is clearly more talented than cam but they just wouldn’t let him get going until cam was out. Shame.
Cam best asset is blocking for the qb.

And what is your statement based on?
Based on the comment that he should have started over Cam. If you want to start, you are available and not suspended.

I’m not saying he should not have been suspended. I’m saying if he wants to play he should not do things to get suspended.

He did great overall but he blew his assignment on the red zone INT. Barely tried to block the defender. He looked like our defense tackles, lackadaisical shoulder pinball tapped the guy. Unless that was the play call, to bump the defender and then get open for the pass.

Rooster also set himself back with the suspension, assuming it was worth 4 games, which I can't judge.
Roster and Chaney would have supplanted Harris 2-3 games into the season if they had the opportunity.

We need to give Brown and Franklin some carries as well so that we have more than running back ready to play.
They are also bigger and can take some of the snaps so Rooster doesn't get worn down.

Is knighton a strong pass protector?

At this point in his career- absolutely not.

But as a runner and pass catcher he is our most dynamic. You need to get him on the field and maximize his talents. Use arroyo as an H back and line him up in the backfield and let rooster release in the flats. This will pull a LBer out of the middle of the field and open up some passing lanes potentially.

Why not put Cleveland reed at rb? He’s probably better than rooster at picking up blitzes too. Get playmakers on the field and find a way to use them and cover for their shortcomings. It’s called coaching.

If you have Rooster in the game on a passing play you have to put him in the pattern. **** line him up outside and force the defender to go out with him.
Because they kid is lighting with the ball and is not a good blocker yet. That will require more size and strength, hopefully with no loss of quickness. This is why some thought Duke looked quicker as a freshman than sophomore. He got bigger to handle the blitzes.

So if you have a small running back then put him in the pattern, keep the tight end in to block and you still get the mismatch with a better blocker.

absolutely correct. Play to the difference maker's strength, not his weakness.
