Kiffin to FAU

ALL false.

Yeah.. except for the fact that Kiffin has a higher winning % in college than BuRtch.

NFL - BuRtch
College - Kiffin
Age - BuRtch started coRching before Kiffin was born. so yeah, Kiffin
Kiffin 2 > BuRtch 1

You honestly think his success as a head coach in college is currently better than Butch's just because of a winning percentage? ****, Ed Orgeron had a better winning percentage than Lane Kiffin at USC after Kiffin was fired 5 games into the season.

Ed Orgeron just landed a top 5 gig in college football. Thanks for furthering my point.

You're aware he's won more SEC games in one season as an interim coach than he did in 3 full years of being a head coach, right? Not to mention his stellar 21 - 29 overall record. Your boy Butch has a better winning percentage than that. His NFL winning percentage is even close. WITH THE CLEVELAND BROWNS.

I could literally do this all day and you'd continue to take the bait.. I'll stop now.

You're welcome

Had to take it. Where else would he go?. Has to show he can revamp as a hc...him being the oc at the oiled machine imo did nothing for him. He'll enjoy living in boca , low expectations, co eds, and the beach for two -3 years

Good move on his part. He was radioactive until saban took him. He showed he could be quiet and subordinate. And he helped win. I also read that he never recruited so that tells me Saban and him had an agreement that eventually Kiffen would move on and Saban didn't want Kiffen to establish recruiting pipelines. Taking the FAU gig was perfect. He goes to a place where he can recruit and succeed at a different level...establish his own recruiting contacts, stay there 4-5 yrs...has to win, then go to Bammy when Saban quits..LOL

I have no idea why they would hire this guy...

He will be gone the first site of a better job. He might even take another job before he even coaches one game for FAU.

He would've been better off waiting on literally anything else to pop up. You want to end your career, this as well as the big at FIU will do that to you.

Holy **** at this decision. This is job is just a smudge better than FIU. FAU's best record the past 9 years is 6-6. Factor in all the coaches in FL now and Kiffin is going to have to bust his *** just to get the scraps in SFLA.

Seems like a suicide mission.

They were 3-9 the last 3 seasons. They are awful. If nothing else, this gives their team a little momentum or buzz......and maybe Kiffin can sell a dream to a few better recruits than they are used to getting, install a high end offense and help set this team up for their next coach once he bolts. It's a win for FAU. If he fails or has issues, they cut ties and still suck.

Kids have watched him lead Bama's offense to glory. He will be appealing to younger guys not recruited by the Big3 who want to play for an exciting offense.

I may be reading too much into this but in order for him to take this gig he had to be miserable in Alabama and/or under Satan. He could have found something better in the near future, I believe.

He was forced, not only out, but in FAU's direction...

I acknowledged that in a post later. i may be wrong. If that is the case then FAU lucked out.

This is why Saban is so successful. Yes, he has resources others don't (and the best bagmen in the business with Auburn and LSU) but he looks 10 steps ahead. He has free reign to take chances on coaches/players toxic to others and take FULL advantage (Kiffin, Sark). He stockpiles coaches on "admin" staffs, who not only help create gameplans but breakdown film on recruits. They learn the Bama way and slide into roles when one opens, keeping things structured and stable. He manipulates coaching/player movement to minimize any impact on his program. Everything he says or does is very tactful....and he apologizes for nothing.

Kiffin will call his own plays and run the O, so i can't see Napier going with him to be a puppet.

By the way, Kiffin took a paycut to go to FAU. The OC role is could be a paycut for any position coach on Bama's staff right now.

Hilarious. He must have realllllly been sick of Saban's ****.

This is a fascinating development. Butch at FIU now Kiffen at FAU. Let's face facts. These two are capable of taking their programs to another level. Good news is that short term this won't hurt us that much. Long term we better not stumble. Butch may be here for a long time. Kiffen will build his resume and then move on.

Congratulations. You're really stupid. No impact on Miami, short or long term.

It's a win-win for FAU. At the very minimum it stirs up interest in a program that nobody cares about. Even their alumni. I don't think they're assuming Lane will be there very long. I think they're hoping he can prop up the program a little on his way to a better job and when he leaves, they'll be more attractive to potential hires.

AS for why he took the FAU job, he must've been desperate to get the **** out of Alabama. Maybe Houston never bothered to contact him during their search? Maybe nobody bothered to contact him during their searches? Maybe it was the best head coaching gig he could get? Still, I'd think the LSU OC job would be more prestigious and probably better paying than FAU.

At least recruiting should be interesting with Butch, Strong and Lane joining Scott Frost on the Florida mid-major circuit. None of this hurts the big three but it will affect mid-tier out of state schools looking to stockpile 2 and 3 star Florida skill positions.
