Gattis says he is really excited to work with Frank Ponce. He says he is a Miami guy and he is welcoming him back home now. He is a former high school head coach in Miami. He notes that Cristobal is committed to having former local high school coaches on his staff.

Gattis says he played against Miami twice and he admits neither one of those experiences went well for him. He says he played a game in the old Orange Bowl. He has an appreciation for this program because of the players he played against in those games.

Yeah big mistake by UM here. Most of the Miami beat writers that cover both teams are going to cover the Dolphins new HC.

its a zoom conference. the Canes are a separate beat. the only one who covers both is Barry Jackson and he isn't the main herald reporter that covers the team.

I saw he mentioned Stroud is still part of the program. I have not seen him listed in any role. Anyone know if he will still be around or is he just helping with the transition?
