You are completely wrong. They didn't settle for bethel. They wanted him in the class regardless if the other guys came or not. They didn't want samuel because he is 5'8 and slow. They were recruiting couch the entire time even after he commited to michigan. And if you call smith a settle then i will settle for high school all-americans everday.
Bethel got his offer after all the misses. Had we been able to recruit in big boy draws, Bethel wouldn’t have been a take.

I haven't read through this thread and have no clue what else was said. but as it relates to Bolden, he was not a panic last minute grab. they were on him long before the misses. he was part of the plan regardless of the rest.
So if we land Smith, Battle, and TS, is Bolden in this class?

Listen, out of all of these names that you listed that you said played the Canes, only a handful will turn out to be any good. Many of those guys (like Jobe) are going to be straight busts. Several of the players that you feel the Canes settled for are going to turn out to be solid players. Is our recruiting elite, nope. Is it awful, nope. Hopefully a couple solid seasons under Manny and we will be able to change that.
We wanted Jobe at FS.

I always said that guy isn't a CB, but Baga likes big CBs and put him out of position there.

He started a few games for the second best team in the country this year and will only get better.

Maybe you should try using another example.

False. They were going to take him earlier but bethel was messing around. He still commited before campbell and surtain told the staff their decision.

Didn’t Bethel get a spot after Young’s announced career ending injury?

He didn’t “start” a few games this year. He didn’t play much the entire season only 4 games actually . Only played in the championship game because Saivion smith caught a cramp after getting beat off the line and was inserted in the lineup. Jobe will probably start this year though

Man Bethel was allowed to commit after the staff knew we had struck out. Dude didn’t get his offer until like the last week of visits before NSD.
False again. He was commited to uf because shannon liked him. He decommited when shannon got fired in december of 2017. He committed to miami in january and surtain and campbell didn't tell the staff they weren't coming until about 2 nights before nsd .

This was our DB board at the beginning of that cycle:

Safety:
FS Josh Jobe
SS/Striker Jamien Sherwood
FS/SS Gurvan Hall
RR/Box Safety Randy Russell

CB:
CB Tyson Campbell
CB Pat Surtain Jr
CB Assante Samuel Jr
CB DJ Ivey
CB Al Blades Jr

Nobody was talking about Bethel as a real option till December/January....

NSD is the first week of February. The staff knew before the announcements that they weren’t coming. He was clearly a plan B kid bc we couldn’t land the big boys.. once again.

Our staff knew they weren't getting those 2, so instead of being caught with their **** in their hand on NSD, they accepted Bethel's commitment.

Not hard to understand if it isn't your first time following recruiting.

You Bethel's family or something?

Samuel was on the fans board. The dude said out his own mouth miami was recruiting him like that. Campbell and surtain didn't tell the staff a decision until February...

Yes we wen't hard after Samuel after Jobe punked us, but the staff had him as their first back up option to Jobe, Campbell and Surtain.

False again. You aren't comprehending. Bethel was already committed when campbell and surtain told the staff they weren't coming.
