Keondre Coburn 18 DT

Hopefully this guy turns out to be a stud recruiter because it's pretty hard to understand otherwise

You're overthinking things brother. He's not the tenth coach(atleast as of now) he's just like Daugherty & baez hes just a quality control guy. Basically assistance in lining things up and communicating between staff, parents and recruits. He was gave a temporary promotion because kool finally admitted this water is deep and full of sharks. He needs help to get around to the right kids with the time we have left being limited. He's basically a sales associate to put the right kids in front of kool. Im being optimistic that well be okay this year but moving forward this waiting around so late in the process needs to be addressed. Gotta be more aggressive than that.

some of us been questioning kool on this, but these white knight idiots had every excuse in the book. this falls on diaz, imo. he's the boss on defense. what the **** has he been doing? richt might want to look into hiring a second dline coach, that coach either Tackles or ends like some other schools do

Nah. Kool #1 doesnt answer to anyone but richt. Hes considered on the same plate as diaz etc.#2 coaching wise hes fine. Got that in oodles. Problem is (and i think that was part of the problem at mizzou)hes very old school. Parts of the game might be passing him by to an extent. He needs help with all the recruiting aspects. He should prioritize the kids he wants than let staff work on elvauating & targeting those kids we have legit wants or needs towards. I personally feel hes overwhelmed with everything on his plate.

What are your thoughts on Rumph?

I won't pretend like I know what'll happen but a Texas kid who takes a visit like this this late in the process has a chance to leave. NOW I'm not going to get myself excited because I'd want this kid badly be cause he was a stud at UA

D,

Why do you think Kool can’t handle it but Searels can? Is it because of the programs they’ve been in and Kool hasn’t really had to be at this level of aggressiveness to pursue talent? Or is it more a personality trait or the lack of desire to? My first thought would make sense.

Several reasons for that #1 as I've said searles is the one coach I'm not sold on. Alot of our alum base starting with Bryant and joaquin supports him but i would love to see more. Beside that what is asked of each of them is night and day. Searles is simply an offensive line coach. He's not independent in any aspect from the rest of the staff. He gets support regionally and his targets are decided by a team effort. Kool is completely independent in the fact that he picks and chooses & coaches completely by his digression. Its alot to put on a coach who has no connection to social media etc & ask him to effectively recruit a kid at an elite level all while being the only coach to work with his unit.

Let's hope coach Richt gets him some help then. Sounds like this Patke kid is a start. If Manny's defense has any chance of working, we need to keep signing dudes on the D Line.

I been saying this the whole time. People who are down on Rumph got no clue.

Its because people try to tie him into unfair expectations. They want him to ensure us getting ps2,tc & every kid hes ever came across. Its not enough that he gets us in that door. hes also gotta close the kids. ***** if its even his position .org recruitment hes in charge of. When he does get us kids he gets no credit for them either. The standard hes held to is absurd. Meanwhile he has turned a weakness into a strength with his coaching. Dude deserves a break.

Yeah kareems around bit he doesnt relate to kids and hes clueless on x & os so he cant even talk with kids who are elite. They see themselves as superior to him at a high school level. Hes the direct reason we didnt get a elite dlineman this year who was basically gift wrapped to us. He just simply couldnt figure out how to relate & it screwed us. We just needed him for several months.

Who was this?

Trust me the oil bucks are bagged and ready to roll

Yet they couldn’t get his momma in from CA so he could sign early?

You guys come off as beat to death flappy pvssies. You pvssies look like you got pounded for 3 hours by Johnny Depth.

Cry about DTs and then cry when we get them on campus. Old windsock pvssies.

Not one tear from me Chise, you cant find it cause it doesn't exist. All I am saying, Texas oil money bagged up is hard to go up against.

So we left an elite DL in the hands of Kareem Brown, who isn’t even a coach? He’s not a coach, and a fan knows he can’t relate to players and has no x and o game, yet we left an elite DL for him to turn off? Ouch.

Ineresting. Why is he kept around if he can't recruit and can't coach?

I'd want coburn ahead of any DT not named Nesta.

Ummmm michael thompson is ELITE (were in a very good place with him & coburn. But I'd say coburn is more of a long shot)

I actually want both.

But If I were picking one, I'd choose Coburn. Getting Coburn to play 1tech would allow Nesta to play 3tech. Now I know Nesta is hella big already, and could probably play the 1tech spot. But the 3tech spot is the more flashy position and the position where Nesta would make the most plays.
Dudes gunna be a beast, but I'd just rather see him in a position where he's more dominating 1 on 1, than taking on a bunch of double teams.
Not that that 1tech spot isn't important, because its very important, but Nesta at 3tech is gunna be a beast.
