Worked at Gulfstream for 6 years... Listened to trainers and owners run their mouths at the poker tables.... Horrifying is all I can say as far as the stuff they do to those animals...
Apparently Anheuser-Busch did some pretty unspeakable things to the Budweiser horse too. Poor guyWorked at Gulfstream for 6 years... Listened to trainers and owners run their mouths at the poker tables.... Horrifying is all I can say as far as the stuff they do to those animals...

I’m very concerned about the ethical treatment of all creatures
…as we gather to celebrate and discuss other humans hitting each other for our entertainment …
So horses and dogs have a choice in the matter?
I didn’t opine on the choices of any creatures, merely my concern for all creatures.
It’s a celebration thread about a Miami alum’s horse winning the Derby.
Are you here to mope?
Your deflection was woefully pathetic.
I'm not the one who equated human athletes to horses and dogs, that was you.
When I worked for Hallandale rec, centuries ago, they had a softball league/games at our park during the racing season at Gulfstream. I umpired. I was amazed at how tough, physically and mentally the jockeys were. They played as hard as they could, even though these were meaningless games. And I was impressed with how strong they were, and they were very athletic. The trainers were all pretty cool as well. When the Breeders Cup was there, Broward sheriffs used our building as a staging point. There were packed with weaponry.Apparently Anheuser-Busch did some pretty unspeakable things to the Budweiser horse too. Poor guy
Imagine investing $300k in a horse…and it dies.Just a few years ago, 2019, over 30 horse deaths occurred at Santa Anita in California. Horse racing is a nasty industry.
If you could invest 300k in a horse 300k means nothing to youImagine investing $300k in a horse…and it dies.
We would be talking about some prime quality meatImagine investing $300k in a horse…and it dies.
Yeah ... but the horse should mean something to you. I've ridden maybe 30 different horses in the past 4 years, owned one, rode the others at a friends ranch and a country stable. Wonderful animals. Hate to see them abused. If you could invest 300k in a horse 300k means nothing to you
