Katie turner assistant AD

I saw the Woody Hayes thing as a kid. That was worse as that was an attacking thing but they’re both technically batteries so I get where he’s coming from.

Again, the Woody Hayes situation happened in 1978, and good old boy announcers Keith Jackson and Ara Parseghian didn't even mention it.

The intention is not to compare the severity of the physical contact. The point was to say that if such an action took place in 1978 AND cost Woody Hayes his job, how much lower the threshold might be in 2024.

As I said, I suspect that the lack of a university president will allow this situation to "go away" without a more formal and/or severe punishment.

Lots of clueless posters don't read Gator Tears and/or comprehend a joke.

This is some ignorant sh**. You think this gets her fired? She was put there for a reason. Stop embarrassing this program.

I’m not talking fired but she can’t be putting hands on people like that. She can shriek like a whiny bih all she wants but needs to keep her hands off opposing players and coaches. Period.

You are right that they probably wont do anything, but I disagree that the emails are a waste of time. I had a lot of fun typing one to her and sending one to the AD. Lol
The AD or university president are who I said they should go to as I said. I personally wouldn’t bother but I think if someone is going to do it then sending them to her makes no sense. Regardless, she has no right to shove our players and coaches and that needs to be dealt with as a matter of principle, even if it’s a sit down at work.

Oh lord, here we go again. Guys who can't distinguish between an "example" and "equating two things".

There are elements of similarity and elements of difference between what Woody Hayes did and what Katie Turner did.

"Coldcocking"? Good lord, someone clearly hasn't seen the video. Hayes was standing to the SIDE of Bauman and swung his arm in a circular motion to make contact with his fist and forearm across Bauman's chest. There was no direct punch, where the force of the punch was going directly into Bauman's chest.

To be clear. Yes, Hayes' hit did minimal damage. Yes, it was during a game. And since 1978, the standards for acceptable behavior by a salaried university employee towards a student-athlete have changed. So even if Turner's actions were "less than" Hayes', it is still not very difficult to see them as a fireable offense, no matter how many tuff guys want to come out and act like "getting hit by a woman is no big deal".

That is not to equate THE ACTIONS, but simply to make a comparison between the type of behavior that could cost you your job in 1978 and 2024. And the threshold in 2024 is a LOT lower.
No I saw the game on TV when it happened. But go ahead on your rant, you're good at that

Same here, was watching the game on TV. He just gets his panties in a wad and goes off on these rants. What Hayes did was way worse, but I guess you can make a case they're technically similar. Appreciate your even keel

I'm ******* great at that.

You were still wrong on the coldcocking.

I'm willing to forgive and forget, but it just gets silly when people who are wrong try to double-down on being wrong.

There's no rant. You're just wrong.

Again, it is not whether the ACTION is worse. It is that he got fired for that IN 1978, when Keith Jackson and Ara Parseghian didn't even think it was serious enough to talk about it as it happened.

Imagine what happens for similar (not identical) behavior in "Woke 2024"? And don't try to dismiss it on the basis of "but a woman did it".

You're right, coldcocked was the wrong word to use, but there is no way you can compare what she did to what Hayes did IMO. Let the Gator hierarchy handle the situation, no need to email her and all this other BS people on this board are advocating for. Enjoy the friggin win and all the chaos it has caused the Turds

I watched the ******* game dude. He was fired because the Buckeye hierarchy was tired of dealing with him and looking for a way to let him go. I grew up in Ohio and know how things were back then
