There is another ACC school who was named in the Adidas FBI scandal. Their role in that scandal was much worse than ours, and led to them firing their head coach before the 2017-18 season. They were hit harder, yet their roster is in much better shape and they've finished ahead of us in each of the past 3 seasons. Said team baptized us to begin the 2019-20 season and has a 3-1 record head to head against us the last 3 seasons.

They made the tourney in 2018-2019 while we only had 5 ACC wins.
Last season they finished tied for 2nd in the ACC at 15-5 and would have made the tourney as a 3/4 seed before COVID cancelled it.
This season they are currently 4th in the conference with only 3 losses, while we only have 3 wins.

Stop making excuses for Coach L.

It is incredible the excuse making and mental gymnastics that goes on in our fan base. Larranaga has three core parts of his job - attract talent, develop these guys both on and off the court (this includes the academic and graduating side), and win games. He is paid quite a bit to find guys that are talented and convince them that Miami is the best place for them. You would think that by reading some comments there are 20 guys in the country that are good enough to play here. Plenty of schools stack their roster with overlooked guys and win a lot of games doing so. His recruiting has been abysmal and so has the play. Anything beyond that is an excuse.
