Ill be here when this guy loses 3 games again and the Bama fans want him gone at the end of this season. Fortunately all these 5 stars aren't playing this year and I don't think their QB situation is that great.
Expectation are something. We should get back to those here.

That’s where Butch totally beats Mario. I think his ability to identify talent, both player and coaching-wise, is elite. He was a terrible game day head coach though I’d rank him better than Mario by a knee.

This is the best summary of Mario’s tenure I have seen so far.
If we are being honest about the most basic thing we needed, it’s stability. I think he’s done that. We’re a respectable program again. Not great but we needed a stabilizing force. And if he’s here for years more and we’re stable then we can hope that the next guy will elevate us. But it should be easier to have more options to choose from when selecting the next guy because we won’t be in the toilet. A good coach can see the NIL commitment and what Mario did within his abilities and decide he can do better.

I think he very well could lose three easily. That’s a tough conference for certain. And I would take him in a heartbeat for his coaching ability.

I cannot co-sign RVA’s sentiment enough and will go even further. I am a known and self-proclaimed Mario fan. I think there’s an outside chance that he can catch lightning in a bottle one year and win a national championship, but I think a lot of my big problems with the mopes is that they don’t appreciate what he is.

He is literally Mark Richt at Georgia. He’s raising the standard of a program that has been a joke for the past 20+ years. Not just a “down program” — a ******* joke.

If Mario takes all ten years to build up a roster and a program that “can’t quite get there,” that’s absolutely fine because he will at the VERY LEAST put us in an attractive enough position to land our Kirby Smart.

That’s worth every cent of his contract if you are a Miami fan who can take a realistic assessment of our program.

I’m actually good with this. I mean granted I wish we were competing at the higher levels and I believe that a good coach gets us to the CFB playoffs last year but outside of a year or two of Richt, we’ve not been a respectable program for 20 years.

Now, I was going to games as a kid starting in the 70’s when we were terrible and our rise to elite was in no way what I ever expected. Nonetheless, I’m actually happy that we are stable again so while I criticize Mario on the facts as I see them, I’m not seeking to fire him for it, particularly since I know he’s here on a long term deal. We need the stability in the program right now more than one good year like Richt had and then Manny.

For arguments sake, the only stable thing Mario’s brought with him is bff’s Dennis and Alex. Multiple coordinator and position coach firings throughout his tenure leads to the personnel issues that we’ve experienced recently in how they evaluate/offer recruits and portal players.

He really needs to win the ACC this year because I’m worried of fatigue on the NIL side of spending 45+ million and nothing to show for last year and this one.

I can’t argue with you about the staff except to say that I think the appearance of the program from the outside is one of more stability today than when he took over. It’s not where I hoped to be but it’s all I’ve got if I’m looking for something positive. And stability is what we needed first. Richt would have done that for us if he had his health and didn’t retire early - 7-8 years later here we are as Manny put us back in the dumps. The overall record between Mario and manny is the same but I do think the appearance is one of more stability today than 4 years ago. I respect all who disagree with this though too. It’s just how I see it. We were free-falling. (No Tom Petty intended)

The outside perspective is the biggest thing when you talk about stability. People get hired and fired every year in every program. We are more attuned to it because we are on the message boards.

Ryan Day is going into his 7th season at OSU this year and has had 9 different offensive and defensive coordinators/co-coordinators.

The message boards vastly overreact to Mario’s tweaking. It’s the nature of major college ball. His job is to keep the ship moving in the right direction, which he thus far has.

I don’t disagree. Day is in a different position though because with all the staff changes, they’re in the hunt for top 3 classes and championships every year, even if it’s just the big 10 championship. We haven’t gotten into an ACCCG under Mario. I’d think Ohio State is definitely looked at as a level above stable.

Nobody is elevating this program into the top echelon while we’re in the ACC.
You think we’re getting out of the ACC anytime soon??? I don’t think the SEC is interested and I question the true interest of the B1G because I don’t really feel like it’s that pressing for them. I’d be happy to be wrong. I hate the ACC though I wonder how we’d be treated in the B1G. They’re certainly not showing us any love right now with that Wisconsin lawsuit.

We need a coaching staff who can do more besides developing offensive lines
I think the type of coach that we should be hoping for in the future is a really good evals and X and O’s guy more so than recruiter. NIL is a massive equalizer in recruiting. I think we need a coach who can identify talent and knows how to get the most out of out of it and how to use it effectively.

Mario stabilized the program in my opinion. It’s not where we want to get to ultimately but at a minimum it’s where we need to be to get further.
its over bruh, those elites schools have to be nuked to have a chance. Its the only way lol

This is a joke

To just be another voice, I think this was a bigger step then people think.
We were a team with a plateau of 6-8 wins, and painfully mediocre, and now we'll range between 9-11 pending year.
This is essentially the Clemson/Swinney model, hope you hit a great QB and you go a great run. And our down years became 9-3 which is be ok with cause we'd still be challenging for the ACC championship.

I think with the NIL money, I think that may be one of the only ways. There are odd programs that rise above it, UGA happen to be at the top at the time, OSU, Texas, Oregon is gonna be there.

We just have to battle Clemson for ACC supremacy, if we can keep up and make the ACC a two teams race then, I think long term we'll be ok cause we'll get CFB playoff money or high end Bowl money, which is turn can be reinvested.

You sure about that? Defense is the only thing that kept us from there last year. It’s possible to win a NC in the ACC. Clemson and FSPOO have done it.

Trumpycane always thought that even if he fails at the ultimate goal the floor was raised dramatically from our previous coaches since Butch

The massive issue is will the boosters/school put this much commitment into another coach
