Linebacker is one of the few positions you don’t have to get 5 star players at to be good. Give me guys who can lead a team and have great instincts all day. We can teach guys to hit . I don’t think this guy is a 5* LINEBACKER anyway. He’s a tweener, your best athlete rushing the passer, not a true linebacker. With those guys you never really know if they will translate and we’ve been down this road before many times (although many had injuries) they didn’t pan out.

Ok. You're entitled to that. I don't agree with "disparage," but if that's how see that commentary (more interested in the process than playing football), so be it. It is/was hyperbolic speculation on my part and I've said as much, minus the hyperbole part.

Yeah, what you posted is what is the situation. I don't know about any of this other nonsense everyone else is saying. There is no reason to shame the kid, he is taking his time, and teams are bidding for him. That's how the game works now.
We can't give him more that Randle and maintain a culture that we have with this class and the roster. Look at the brotherhood we have with all the shutting it down announcements at once.
Kaden likes Miami and Texas AM, but his parents love ND. All three choices are good ones, so he can sit back and let them all bid for him. But we don't have to do that. We have two studs already in this class at LB, so we move on. It's a smart move by both parties.
I think he would be the third best LB in our class anyway, so there is that too.
