Kaaya's Record....

What he did as a freshman was amazing. Won the job fresh out of high school with no spring ball and was one of the top passers in the ACC immediately.

He had talent around him but guys like Walford and Dorsett really emerged with him throwing the passes.

If he goes pro, who gets the job next year that can do what he can?
Or do we go another route with a dual threat QB?

he didnt WIN the job. Golden put in a freshman to have a built in excuse. the whole team wanted ryan williams.

sucks he broke the record. he is not even as good as frank costa or brock berlin.

Congrats to Brad. He's been a picture of class and a pretty good QB throughout his entire career at UM. I wish him the best in whatever he decides to do.

Williams was injured. It was Kaaya vs Heaps

Welp, so much for the Dorsey comparisons. I told yawl he was way better than Dorsey. Looks like U will be wishing for another Brad in the years to come. The fan base has to learn to appreciate these players more while they are here.

Really? I love the fact that Berlin did the cut throw against Florida in 2003 after an epic comeback in that series against the Gates, but he was downright awful that year. Miami had a national championship caliber defense and he was putrid against Virginia Tech and Tennessee. That defense was every bit as good as any defense Miami has ever had with Wilfork, Vilma and Taylor up the middle. Frank Costa got benched in 1993 for Ryan Collins. That 1994 defense led the nation in scoring and total defense. He was awful. A statue in the pocket and he threw a ton of interceptions.

It's rare a QB comes in and starts as true freshman. Props to BK he is better than most college qbs. However he still needs to beat FSU and acc coastal in order to be considered an all time great. That's why he should return for senior year and develop further with richt
The question was asked of Mel Kiper today"What Qb will first be drafted?"Kiper listed 6 or 7,Kaaya was never even mentioned and he went to the 4th round.

He technically didn't "win" the job. The starter got hurt, remember?

Winning the ACC coastal is now the bar to be considered an all time great Miami (FL) QB. Pathetic how far down the toilet this program has gone.

Kaaya is a decent QB (probably top 1/3 of current ACC QBs) and a big time stat compiler. That's it.

The funny thing about Kaaya (and I'm admittedly still on the fanclub train) is that we're 3 years in and the way he's viewed going into next season or even remembered here if he leaves is going to be contingent upon one game- Dec. 28 against WVU. You'll always have the stalwart apologists and critics on both sides with him but I really think that the center (where most fans probably reside now) is going to form a more hardened image of the kid based on this bowl performance. To a slightly lesser degree this applies to Rick as well.

He's lost every other game of significance in his 3 years. I guess beating WVU in a December bowl game is something....kind of.

I'm not saying it's the correct way to evaluate him but that (just based on my own anecdotal experiences) the fanbase has reached a tipping point and that this game might end up swaying a lot of people in either direction.
