You serious right now? 58% 9565 yds 86 td and 28 int with a career rating of 147.4. Hovering around 60% is average but Incredibly inaccurate? That's got to be a joke. Dorsey wasn't a "game manager" or a "product of the system". He was our college Tom Brady. Dude was a gamer, a true cane, and a football genius. Some of you kill me.

I agree, incredibly inaccurate is a an overreaction. However, 58% is not very good.

16 for 32 with 3 picks against Florida

As I said, Dorsey had times where he was really inaccurate.

Calling him our college Tom Brady is disrespectful to Tom. He was more of our College Eli Manning, with other worldly talent surrounding him.

But I'm not here to turn this into a bashing of one of the greatest QB's in school history. I'm bowing out of this discussion fellas.

The adjective unspectacular is a tad misleading. In many ways, Kaaya has enjoyed a spectacular season to date - freshman or not. Take a second and name another true frosh QB at Miami who has ever played better?

I'd say he's been spectacularly competent with an even more spectacular potential ceiling. Two things we haven't been able to say together since Dorsey.

He also went 38-2 as the QB for the U.

Being at the game might have robbed you of the chance to see closeups of his face and his mannerisms. He was rattled and flustered.

He regrouped and went on to greatness, but guys who make it seem like he walked on water from day 1 are being disingenuous. There were plenty of bumps in the road for him just like anyone else who has been great.

I think the best parts are two fold:

1. That an injury created Brad Kaaya. All indication was Ryan Williams would be the starter.

2. People still use William's injury and that we have a freshman at QB to explain the performance on the year (i.e. 3 losses). Kaaya is performing pretty darn good for a true freshman who didn't enroll early.

I'd call a better than 2:1 TD/INT ratio, 20 TD's, 62% comp% and 9 YPA pretty spectacular for a guy who is a true freshman who didn't have spring practice. Coley is starting to show some signs of life as well. Let him hit the weight room and get B/S/F and get a full of season in and then let's see if he's "unspectacular".

Did you see what the #1 QB ('14) did yesterday in a QB friendly system against ULM? ****. That's what unspectacular looks like.

Pretty accurate statement right here. I think Kenny has admitted as much. God, I still have nightmares about Larry Tripplett and that game. That's why beating them by about 125 pts at the OB and their AD having a mental breakdown after was extra sweet.

Dorsey's reputation is sacred but he didn't just show up here as a polished superstar- which is an even bigger credit to him. Like we're hopefully seeing with Kaaya, there was always obvious growth and inprovement and legitimate reason to get more and more excited.

Kaaya at the moment seems like a game manager in the mold of dorsey, Leinhart, McCarron. A guy that will do the things that allows you to win a title. He's not gonna go out there and break records like Manziel or Manning. or sling the rock like Rodgers or Marino.
