Justin Fuente fired at Va Tech

I do not want them landing Chatwell. He would be a good fit.
I hope they get a good coach. I hope we get a good coach. Tired of this sorry *** ACC. Football was fun when games mattered. It's currently the most irrelevant conference in football. Of course we have never mattered while in the ACC but that's not the conference fault. It's ours.

Honestly, I don’t view us in competition with any of these schools with openings. We aren’t in the same tier as LSU and USC in terms of their approach/spend and VaTech is likely looking for someone culturally different than our targets (Outside of Kiffin who could be a shared target).
Why would Kiffin leave Oxford for Blacksburg? He wouldn't. It will probably be Chadwell or Beamer. Maybe they will entertain Bill Clark.

Tech has structural problems recruiting. Not enough P5 talent in state and whatever is 4 stars and above gets picked off by the usual suspects and add in Penn State.

But yet let’s hold on to Manny for two more weeks. Does absolutely nothing to hold onto to that bozo
Number one, you need an AD first anyway. Number two, a public announcement is for fans satisfaction. If a decision has been made and communicated PRIVATELY, then sports agents know and contacts are being made behind the scenes. You may even remember a former player who was recently on the sidelines?

Packer & Durham are speechless right now. News came right after they shared a clip from his presser yesterday...

They already went ape sh*t over Blake James being fired....
"Protect your coaching and AD sources even if they're not worth a ****"

Typical ACC loser mentality

I usually like Packer but will now question anything Durham says. You can't with a straight face think this wasn't the right move after the Diaz hire. Bad decisions have consequences.
My guess is they like him personally so are letting that influence their opinion.

No one can make any reasonable case that Blake was anything other than a terrible AD. We are terrible in virtually every sport at this point. It’s outrageous. ****, our womens soccer team scored 4 goals the entire season last year.

Blake absolutely had to go whether some people liked him and thought he was nice to interview or not.

C’mon it’s only two weeks. Plus the kids who are usually ambivalent about their play and have zero interest in impressing NFL scouts are playing SO HARD for him. Also, it sends a strong message to all the qualified candidates who have some concerns about how serious we are about football know we mean business by keeping a lame duck coach to save on a buyout when everyone else has already shît canned their loser coach.

I definitely think that's part of it. They focused more on the non athletic part of his job. Athlete academics, fundraising, leadership within the ACC. Their big argument was the fan base has little patience with regard to developing teams to win. They talked about Wake, NCState and their process of long term building for success. They pretty much said that Miami fans expect a coach to walk in Hecht and win the Natty immediately.

Say hello to your ACC Network football experts (also pictured - two professional fluffers):

Manny's gonna be gone too, who cares at this point lol

VT is not competing with us for the same caliber of HC*

*if we do this right
you're right but LSU and USCw will

VT opening first might not matter but if we wait another 2 weeks to start looking and VT offers someone a ton of $$ to lock them up quickly then that could be a bad play.

VT would have owed Fuentes 2.5 million MORE had they fired him after December 15th.

why would they burn 2.5 million to fire him a month early? to hit the coaching market before us
