Jurich

What it says to me is Manny Sr is still pulling the strings…he must have some nasty sHT against some if these BOT members…Things like back room business deals when he was in office that could send some to prison cause if not what else could continue to push these prominent people to do his bidding…
One of those guys is gonna wake up in a hotel room next to a dead hooker.

This news said one thing to me Someone on the Bot is undermining the university. They may have paid off Turnkey to do this. Most likely in favor of Many returning too.

From my experience, if both parties have contacted each other at all prior to using a search team (or a recruiter), then the search team does not receive the commission. Based on this vague/minimal information, it seems like Turkey is confident that Miami will choose Jurich and therefore, they would not receive the commission. As of result, they are threatening to quit this AD hire process.

It could be good news and I am not sure why everyone is panicking.
Because of the last couple decades of UM hiring history with the football program. It's clear there is no longer confidence or trust between the most in the fanbase and the program.

Open NCAA investigation and FBI? I think that's a big problem, don't you?

NCAA will be toothless in the near future with the advent of super conferences and NIL type deals where players get paid... super conferences are going to be cash cows and we see more interconference athletic agreements and NCAA as a powerless figurehead.

Emmert saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship...

This AD hire is going to be a critical hire with all the changes that could be coming up in the next few years.... almost similar to the time when we became affliated to a conference after being independent for decades.

We need a strong, smart, forward thinking AD. Otherwise we could be sitting helpless on the sidelines during seismic shifts in conference alliances that are going to occur in the college athletics landscape.

Some of you guys aren’t going to make it.

There’s a real possibility that nothing is announced for a few days, maybe a couple of weeks.

I’m already seeing some frantic silly insane posting and that’s only in this thread.

I think that’s why I’m taking a break. It’s just not gonna be pleasant seeing a bunch of people sitting around playing with their own *****.

You’re possibly looking at it wrong. I don’t know what is going on… not sure if too smart or too stupid to follow this story. I’m just saying if the school is going to go with Jurich, the school contacted Jurich before and he was excluded from the SOW, and the search firm will not be paid if it is Jurich, then why would they stay engaged in the process? If they aren’t getting a commission then of course they don’t want to put in more work.
That's a good point. Hadn't thought of it like that.

It's almost as if a home buyer finds a house he likes and starts to eye it. Then engages a broker who shows home buyer 3-5 houses. If you spurn the broker and buy the home you found, usually a broker wouldn't be entitled to a commission under those circumstances.

Why not just say, "Interview whomever you wish, but you're still paying us for doing a job"????

I remember the time we hired a search firm and they brought us Randy Shannon. I wonder why I have little faith in them now?
Ultimately it's still the decision of the admin. Wasn't Leach also considered?

Agreed it could be an issue. Don’t agree it should have taken this long to resolve or end up in the “media”
Don't like the leaks but they seem somewhat strategic. Now we know Jurich may be damaged goods so time to move on from this.

Correct… or as another example that may be more on point. I am selling my house. Before engaging my realtor, a friend comes over to look at it. I include in the realtor contract an exclusion clause for people that looked at the house before the contract began. House goes on the market and that friend writes an offer that I accept. The realtor does not get a commission.
