Jordan Seaton to Portal to Knoxville Car Wreck Guy (LSU)

Assuming we don't get anyone else, I think McCoy will be the LT. Buchanan the RG. Merriweather will be the 6th OL. I wouldn't be surprised to see SJ as the starting C if he can gain some good weight.

Samson pulling in gap scheme runs is a thing of beauty. Unless he's far superior to McCoy pass blocking at LT, I'd rather he stay at Guard, since we pull our guards more often than we pull our tackles.

Mirabel replaced all five OL starters for the COVID year at Oregon. They gave up 11 sacks in 7 games, and Dye ran the ball well (Verdell did too the first few games till he got hurt IIRC).

Cantwell being ready to start is a big key. If both McCoy and Samson have to play tackle that probably makes Merriweather a starter at one of the guard spots. That would be our weakest line, IMO.

Wildcard would be if Mirabel likes Wilkerson/Campbell enough to start one of them at tackle. I know he spoke highly of all the freshman OL during a playoff presser. Could just be coach speak. Doubt he starts a true and redshirt freshman at both tackle spots, but it's a possibility to consider.

Kinsler coming back I'd be down with, but he'd have to beat out Buchanan to start on the line. Everytime he came in at OT in garbage time I always thought he was playing out of position, had cement feet, and would never be a starting OT here.
I think the key with Cantwell will be how much he’s able to improve in pass protection, which is the area he needs to work on especially because I could see us throwing more next year. The thing people need to realize about the O-Line next year is even though on paper right now they may not be as dominant, with Mensah we’ll also have a QB who’s much better at buying time and avoiding pressure than Beck so that should help balance that out.

We’re losing maybe the greatest college DE ever, and one of the most productive pass rushers in the last 5 years opposite to him. To say this year’s DL will be better just because of the amount of 5 stars is incredibly premature.
We have been bad so long until some of you lose sight of reality…lol

If you recruit well like we do, you will lose great players every year. You don’t think other defensive ends will give you the same production? I can pretty much pencil in that next years unit will set UM’s sack record

Barry Sanders was special, but every back doesn’t need to be him in order to be productive.

I said it from the jump.

If he chose Deion the first time...it aligns with the type of guy he is (impressionable) ...if any of u been around Mario he is anything but that he looks just like he looks in press conference and the sidelines.

I said this kid isnt the typical OL...he thinks he is a skill position player i mean you can tell from the recruitment..Lineman arent drawing sh*t out to long were not that type of position or really have that mindset cause its an unsung position...my man stretched out all the attention he could possibly get.

LSU offense will be cooking this year in the sec based on what they have got out of the portal.
We can lose a player in a tight recruitment and not hate his skills. Let’s keep it real. Seaton would instantly become our best linemen the instant he stepped foot on campus and one of the best tackles in UM history.

Seaton can ball! He is really that good. Would have love to have him.

We wanted him so this is not the staff’s position, but I’m glad we didn’t get this guy. Him and Levitt are cut from the same cloth. Bad reputations and family members running their processes.

That said, we have to figure out this OL. Too many misses in ‘the ‘24 class.
I think we will be fine

He said he wants to support a coach his color . Yet goes with kiffen over Mario . He not got it between the ears . Can’t wait to see how him and levit are together once they lose a game or two .
Black people don’t really view Cubans in that way, as people of color. So I don’t think that had an influence on his decision. If Mario were a dark skin Cuban it may have influenced his decision.

Seaton is a mercenary type, plain and simple. It was always going to be about who the highest bidder was and who stroked his ego. Even though Mario’s a relentless recruiter he’s not going to go to those lengths. Either you wanna be here or you don’t. We develop O-Linemen better than anyone in the country…we don’t need to beg. To be honest, when we landed Meriweather yesterday I knew we were out of the Seaton sweepstakes because he said he was waiting to hear what he was going to do.

If any position group im not worried about its oline as long as Mario and Mirabel are here

Dudes made a border line 4 star juco LT into a day 2 pick. Got a dude in cooper who was an athlete didn’t know which side of the line he was gonna play on D or O and made him an all ACC guard. Got a true freshman in cici ready game 1.

If there’s a ***** it’s they can’t seem to find a center but thankfully the portal has provided.

This is good…now we get to see all the posters who would have wanted Mario to give this kid 5M and a mansion on Star Island if he had asked for it. Are you guys serious? We had a number and we weren’t going to move from it. I’m fine with that. We will be fine…guys just have to step up now. God forbid that I guess right? Smh. And from the looks of it..it’s gonna cost us a pretty penny to get Mensah here. The OL isn’t in shambles. We have talent there. Make it work.

with him now having seaton and blah the guard from maryland thats atleast 2 really good pass blockers i dont think bah gave up a sack last year i was hoping we gave him a look.

There is two fcs ol i identified that i think could play here...but these guys are from north dakota and freakin montana and been loyal and basically the opposite of Miami lol

We should have recruiting dpept guys scouting fcs qb targets every year...there are qbs there to be had n they wouldnt even be expensive.

Who are the 2 FCS olinemen you feel could play at Miami?

Get Broderick Shull from Auburn. 6’5” 327 lbs. and get Kinsler back.

Auburn transfer OL Broderick Shull would be an interesting cultural fit. He is hella country but there's awesome fishing in south florida.

As for his love of bee keeping that's a little harder in south florida due to the African Africanized bees invasion

I wonder if Skull is still in the portal because he isn't passing his medical exam as being fully recovered from his shoulder surgery last spring.

Even IF the O-Line “takes a step back” next season it will still be a unit that the majority of fan bases around the country would give their left nut to have. A “down year” for Mario/Mirabal on the O-Line will still be #1 in the ACC and top 15-20th in the country.
