Jordan Battle note

I don't mean to be a bad guy here but Terry Glenn is dead. Died in a car accident last year. That said, I'm sure your point holds true for the likes of David Boston, Chris Gamble and Michael Jenkins.

So technically, if Terry Glenn showed up anywhere he would be treated like a god

Anybody know who this guy is?

Well since nobody answered. This the osu qb from taint in 2008. he Ain’t walking up there and nobody is pulling out cell phones and he ain’t getting anything free or being first in line. Some of y’all would do anything that pump any school and keep us down. Fake as fans.

Great point d4h, I concur. I think I saw that pic somewhere...... It's amazing so-called cane fans in hear on a board that players likely read talking about how much more accolades, celebrity treatment, and benefits they will receive going to a college town as opposed to miami. I swear the average IQ level in hear has to be below 70. Fans my @ss
What up cuz? Yeah man, trolls out in full force. Would you rather go to a Podunk cow town or freezing cult environment or be around celebrities, beaches and dime pieces? Come on man!!

Exactly! You've got to be nuts to prefer being in Ohio from Aug-May over Coral Gables. If school wasn't in session Dec-March, I might think differently. But the Midwest is miserable a good part of the school year.

Man I hope there aren’t any recruits looking at this thread. Lol. A lot of definite statements about how UM players are treated around town in here that are just flat out not true.

First off, why should Jacory Harris be treated like anything other then an average joe here in Miami? What did he do past HS to warrant him being noticed by anyone outside of a UM or Northwestern fan? The guy didn’t even make it to a Nfl camp. Horrible example.

If we are talking about UM players being given free reign around Miami and getting VIP treatment at places like Club Liv then let me tell you..I’ve seen pro athletes and celebrities not get recognized at the door at LIV. That’s just the city of Miami and has nothing to do with being a UM player.

When UM is winning these players are most definitely recognized around town and are treated great. I’ve seen this with my own eyes. When we suck, why would they still be treated like gods? That’s just life. Pauly Shore isn’t getting VIP treatment anymore I can guarantee you that.

Hope we snag Battle but sounds like he’s gonna completely open it back up.

Totally agree with this. Jacory will always be a HS legend, but that is for those of us that follow this stuff rigorously or those that were in HS at that time (like me). Beyond that, he didn’t live up to theyl hype in his time at Miami.

With that being said. Miami is a winners town. It’s a place where you can be whoever you want to be so long as you have the money to do so. If you’re successful, at whatever you do, Miami will love you. Whether it’s sports, business, or a **** Ponzi scheme (until you get caught). It’s why we’re known as “band wagon fans” or “fickle”. There are too many events going on in this city every day for its people to want to give up to go watch a mediocre team play. We saw what a Canes game with the city behind it looks like last year with the ND game. Herbstreit and Fowler said it was pretty much the loudest venue they had ever been too. “Doesn’t get much louder than this”. Canes games have to become the cool thing to do that everyone talks about when they go back to work on Monday’s.

If there are any recruits reading this, the moral of the story is, come win. Win BIG, and this city will get behind you like it did last year. Even the old Latin abuelitas that don’t know **** about football or English will go the parade and support the team. Recruit other big time players and come be great here. In a real city.

I'll take a recruiting win any way we can get it at this point, but I continue to be taken back by how many recruits with whom we are seemingly the last to step up contact.

I’ve seen multiple ppl on here say that our players aren’t recognized as well as they were in the past on campus and in Miami in the clubs . Let’s just say OSU athletes don’t have to compete for attention with millionaires and pro athletes like UM athletes do

If you’re a football player at UM and you don’t have a flock of chicks on perma-spread, then I don’t want you on my team anyway because you’re a certified Grade A loser.

I’d bet even a little **** like Badgely was blowing the backs out of different chicks regularly.

Jacory Harris was a legend as a hs qb and played at Miami Dade's #1 storied football program in MNW. I swear some of yall cant be from S.FLA.

Terry Glenn can go to Columbus now and be treated like a god..we have people literally asking who is Jacory Harris.

Yall literally dont know the difference between college towns and Miami so no need to go back and forth.

But ive been BIG ON BATTLE FROM THE JUMP AND HOPE WE WHEEL HIM IN. BEST FS in S.FLA in my opinion.

we don't need him. It'd be a nice get, but we don't need him.

Badgely looks like a low budget pornstar.

I thought the team always said Badge was the dude that was pullin all the tail.

More like a ghost...or apparition. Unless he's mistaken for the Messiah.

Actually, if he is in an urn, it's possible he could visit his old school again. I used to have a friend at work in D.C. who's mother still lived in Liberty City and used to move HER mother's urn out on the front porch during nice weather, just to get a little sun.

Reminds me of my suggestion they bring ol' Sonny back to do the radio broadcasts instead of Zagacki, just prop him up and hire a ventriloquist.

Probably why so many guys walk on...why practice and get beat up by bigger stronger guys in practice yet never get to play in games.....increases the ***** pull factor.

Back in my day (early 2000’s), one of my boys was a Hurricane commit (later went Juco and played at OU), knew all the players at Miami. I’ve seen these kids get treated extremely well at the Grove. They may not be “God’s” like in some Hicksville but they were living the dream in Miami.
Did your other son actually go to UM?

Banda thought he was getting TS. We have to stop playing the all in on one guy philosophy.
Yep. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. You are also on the money with regards to this amateurish all in on one type recruiting strategy.

Look, I truly do like our staff but as @Coach Macho rightly put it, " if you don't realize that a significant part of this staff is green and basically learning on the job then you don't get it" or something to that effect. Banda's blunder with Battle is evidence of that fact. He thought we were getting Stevenson who many consider the no1 safety prospect in the country so he slow played a kid who maybe one of the top 10 safety prospects in the nation. It seems even crazier as I type this. Fortunately this colossal blunder may be one that he gets a chance to do over again. Rule #1 in recruiting. Never never and I mean never count your chickens until they hatch. Banda will learn from this and this staff should become more cohesive and in turn more effective as they gain experience both individually and collectively.

Looking back it appears to me that Richt took a calculated risk in putting this staff together. He knew that there would be growing pains but he also saw the talent and potential and was betting that by the time this team was ready to play with the elite programs that the coaches would also be ready. That's my take on the staff in general. I could be right over the mark or I could be totally full of ****. I suppose we will see. Can't wait!
