Jhavonte Dean decommits from Bama

I honestly couldn't give two ****s if Bama wanted him or not. He's a talented CB who will be playing day 1 here regardless.

Exactly. Too many inferiority complexes in this board.

Bring this guy in and let him get coached up. You can't teach length(6'2) or speed(4.3). Both of which this kid has. Colbert hardly ever played for Texas and was very serviceable here.

This de-commitment was expected as SEC Country has reported for over a month now that Dean and Alabama would have a mutual parting of ways after a down season at Blinn for Dean. He had 23 tackles and zero interceptions in nine games this past season as a back-up. He also never visited Tuscaloosa this fall and took official visits to Utah, Arizona State and Miami.

A source close to the team said 4-star prospect Chris Henderson, who took an official visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend, is the team’s top choice to fill Dean’s spot in the class. Henderson is a Florida lean as of now, though. He won’t make a decision until National Signing Day.

If Alabama has a "commit and lock it up" mentality, why in the world would they go after a guy like Henderson? This dude's flirting with everybody. Something doesn't add up.

This is why we can't have nice things. One of our top targets decommits from their current school and we wanna argue about whether said school dropped him or not. I'm looking at you blackvern

Dean started at Blinn, but believe an article from "SEC COUNTRY" if you want.

The same website ran an article talking about how great Dean was back when he committed to Bama btw

Because he hasn't commited to anyone yet.

Well, he was committed to us, but that's not the point. He isn't committed and locked up to Bama so why are they still going after him? People can't say that they stop pursuing people if they don't commit and lock it up if they are going after Henderson.

Dean didn't even start at Blinn? Yikes.
Blinn had Kendall Sheffield, Dominique Harrison, Ben Sutton & Dean all in rotation at CB.

Those are all 4-star CB's & Sheffield is a 5-star... They play everyone in order to showcase them & put them on the field.

The fact he was at Blinn in the first place means he's a **** good player, because Blinn is one of the best JUCO programs in the country.

As bad as our secondary will be this coming year, no brainer for Dean. Ride the pine at Bama and never see the field for next 2 years, or come here and have a shot at starting. Anyone who didn't see this coming was a fool. Happy for the kid, and hope he earns a starting spot.

Redwine, Young, and Dean, with Bandy rotating in ... we can work with that. Maybe Jackson finally delivers on his promise. Add in Deejay to that side of the ball, and grab Henderson and/or Edwards, and we have one **** of a position group.

Depends on the kid. If the kid is good enough or bama has enough need, best believe saban will chase him.
