Agree, because we can't compete with other programs if they would want our coach. You been around a long time, you know we as Miami fans don't want 9-3/10-2 every year. Makes me feel sorry for schools like Iowa. I think Ferentz is a solid coach but it would be miserable having that type of ceiling over us. I'm greedy though and perhaps have a much higher opinion of Miami than I should.

So your saying that the assistant coaches know who is the front runner to replace Manny? I am trying to figure out how this make any sense whatsoever but cant.

Why would anyone inform an assistant coach (who most likely will be canned) who the next HC would be. Dudes been here for a little over a season and now he is in lock step with the BOT? Sounds like you have been feed some BS my friend.

I don't doubt that. I'm simply sharing what I saw on Reddit. I never implied that it was true.

Not commenting on that or any GAs, but we have a couple assistants who are very close with some of the “top” candidates preferred by this board, including Lane and Mario, as well as their agents. That said, this is clearly bull****. Although I’d honestly take Lebby over someone like Chud, no way he’s being considered as the head coach.

Being close with one of the searching candidates would be a completely different story except that coaching candidate would not be the best judge on whether or not he is the top candidate for the job. In this instance he made it sounds like the assistant coaches know whose going to be firing them come offseason.
 
My big problem with Kiffin (**** hiring his OC) is that he's currently riding a 1st round NFL QB.

I wonder what his offence / win total will look like when that guy leaves this year.

I personally think if Kiffin has any aspirations he'll parlay this season into a bigger job.
 
Can't imagine him actually being our first choice candidate. Think he would be a great OC though for someone like Mario or Stoops that are not exactly known for having innovative offenses. Think he would be a good option for HC at a school like FIU.

It’s a valid point. Dabo was considered a gawd by Miami fans with Watson and Lawrence. Now his team is performing like Miami, despite having talent on par with Bama, because he finally whiffed on a 5* quarterback eval.

He threw 6 picks in a loss to Arkansas last year.

Can you imagine what this board would have said about Lane were that to have happened here? Both Corral and Lane would have had banner planes flying around their homes.
 
The next coach has to be a home run hire. He would be a good OC though if Kiffin were to come here.
