2027 Jaxon Dollar 5* TE from Denver, NC (East Lincoln HS) Commits to UGA

Dollar chose Georgia over Notre Dame and Miami which on the surface is a really good win. Both programs are very strong and have recently been dominant on the recruiting trail, so beating them for any recruit is not easy and worth celebrating when it happens.
But Georgia also had to overcome Dollar’s older brother who opened up about how he initially didn’t want him to go to Georgia.

“I’ll be honest,” Cameron Dollar said via dawgnation.com. “I was against Georgia early on. Mostly because I’d seen what they had brought in recently.”

”From a big brother perspective, trying to take care of him, I didn’t see Georgia as a fit for his personality at the time. Meaning like, it is going to be a tough road.”

He’s like ‘I could get ‘em’ and he’s like ‘Yeah, this is me’ and that’s all he said,” Cameron Dollar said. “He said ‘This is me,’ and when he said that, that kind of let my guard down with Georgia. Because it checked the box. It’s close to home. Big-time football. Solid degree. Great coaches. It checks every box. The only thing left to answer was the opportunity of play time.”

Cameron is the same guy who played for Charlotte when Woodiel was on the staff.

Anyone have the info on what Gaby said about him in the update on 247?

UGA's TE usage and production fell significantly after Bowers left and then fell even more after Beck left. Now, our TE usage was not that much better than UGA's last year. Both were pretty pathetic. Our # 1 and 2 TE's production basically mirrored UGA's #1 and 2 production. Yes, pathetic.

I don't see UGA using the TE that much with their current offense and with Stockton at qb. Let's hope we showcase our TE's a little more this year. I think we will. I'll take anything good that can help as a selling point to get this kid.

I don’t get the everlasting appeal they got going on over there lol. Hopefully we can pitch the right message that breaks the spell. It’s not cool to be a five star tight end and have to dwindle your shine until your third or fourth season.

Mario loved Colton Heinrich when he was at Cardinal Gibbons, and he hasn’t even registered any stats in his first two years & the reports outta UGA I skimmed thru have him buried in the depth chart. Idgi lol. Maybe he’ll transfer after this year.

As far as production, UGA TEs in 2025; REC/YDS/TDS

TE1: 20/261/1
TE2: 15/158/4
TE3: 7/117/1
TE4: 1/9/0

For all the people who say our tight end usage doomed us, clearly that cannot be the case based on what we see above. Those four Tight ends combined for a total of 43 receptions, 545 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. When Colbie Young was injured, they just spammed Z. Branch screens rather than get the TEs more involved. For comparison, Bauman and Lofton had 41 receptions, 384 receiving yards and and 4 TDs. With Luka and Benedict Schott, that’s 45 receptions, 445 receiving yards and 4 TDs. We really aren’t that far off and last year was such a down year for us as far as TE production.

Having Bowers to point to seems like the ultimate guide; alongside UGA being much closer to his home so they were able to get a second unofficial in for their spring game. And Woodiel going to Ole Miss ofc. Skyman mentioned the 4 TE sets selling point as well.

Mensah threw 7 of his 22 TDs to Bauman in 2024 so I suspect our youngins are going to feast in this offense; alongside a Lofton resurgence. Lastly, it would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet for Elijah Lofton to have a big impact for the Super Bowl Champions. We need that ready-made-model still on his rookie contract. Will Mallory, David Njoku, and Brevin Jordan all lookin good too will further hone in the TEU selling point.
