Yea man, I just got caught up on this and the JJ thread. That Saggy ****y Gal character went fookin berserk 😂😂

The Restrepo comparisons never made sense to me.

Aside from being Hispanic, short & from Broward, they're nothing alike. I mean coming out of HS, he's not the same level of WR X was coming out of DFB.

From watching his highlights I came away repeatedly saying, "I don't see it".
I don't see elite burst
I don't see extra gear speed
I don't see quick feet
I don't see crisp savvy route running
I don't see an overall explosive athlete

He can jump & is a good hands catcher, but that's about it.

To me, he looks like a poor man's Troy Stellato.

The fact he's going to FSU all but confirms it for me. FSU's WR recruiting over the last past 7+ years has been nothing short of pure garbage. FSU is a WR graveyard, especially for South FL kids.

Take it with a grain salt, but I never got why this kid was so hyped on here... Actually I know why, but it didn't add up to me.
@DMoney bout to drop the ban hammer 🤣🤣.

Isn’t basketball and football kinda impossible in college? Wouldn’t get to join the basketball team until like conference play. Baseball and football is a different story

Lopez had 1,300 yards against good competition, he's a high-level basketball player who averages 25 PPG and dunks in the half court, he dominated the competition at the Under Armour Camp, and runs all kinds of routes on his film.

I agree Lopez doesn’t have an extra gear, but neither did Restrepo. I’d say Lopez is faster. I also see more craft and short-area than you do (which I think is reflected in the stats and camp performance).

Troy Stellato was a straight-line track athlete who didn't produce in high school (397 yards as a senior, 727 as a junior). IMO I don't see the Stellato comparison at all. Here is my write up on Stellato from high school for reference:

Troy Stellato, Cardinal Gibbons (6’, 180)- Strong-bodied WR with legit 4.4 speed. Does most of his damage on crossers where he can use his speed to turn the corner. More Andy Isabella than Wes Welker. Faster in the 40 (4.42) than the shuttle (4.47). Needs to improve his lateral quickness and ability to beat press coverage. Ohio State and Clemson have offered.

I've been driving the bus on Restrepo since his sophomore year of HS and was a Stellato doubter, so this isn't hindsight talking. I think Lopez is more like Restrepo, but we'll see.

Like I said in the other thread there’s a loooong way to December so let’s revisit this around Thanksgiving after this kid sees just how bad their offense is and they’ve gone 5-7 or 6-6 for the year.

At that point maybe Mario doesn’t want or isn’t. interested in this kid anymore…

I liked alot of @Memnon post except the stellato comp.

I coached against stellato and would post about him on here . thats maybe where u saw it about the crossers.

But he got **** near all of his yards in that play cardinal gibbons has ran for years with the crosser. Its a cheat code, who ever they put there racks p yards

I was also there when Stellato ran the supposed 40 time and he seemed a bit shocked he ran it though he has wheels.

id compare JROC closer to KC Concepcion who was at nc state. He does have a lot of restrepo to him in finding open spaces and attacking the ball in the air
