Jarvis Brownlee Holdout: Day 3

aside from tax issues, i suspect contractual issues will be all over for NIL while its implemented. Some kids dont understand how any of that **** works or even seek help.

That's... Something else. But it's this starts a trend, could trigger a hasty demise or at least severe reigning in of NIL deals.

But you know, philosophically, if we're saying these kids are professionals and should be treated like stuff, and the pros have the right to hold out for more money.. Why shouldn't the college kids? Just pretty funny right now it's happening to FSU.
And don’t think nfl teams aren’t going to watch how these guys handle their NIL deals. Sitting out in the spring when legally it’s not run by FSU will hurt him if he becomes a viable nfl prospect.

Coles, McPherson, & Warrick's ultimate punishments were not any more than most first time offenders who plead out.

And McPherson wasn't "allowed" to take a checkbook, I believe He was charged with a felony and later plead out to a misdemeanor.

Now Winston, that's another story.

McPherson was "allowed". The theft was not reported until he started writing some sizeable checks that were above and beyond the "understanding".

That whole auto/truck detailing business was an open cookie jar for F$U football players.

A lot of people fail to realize how perilously close we are to a judge ruling that college football players are employees, which is an outcome that the NCAA has been fighting for decades.

Once that door is opened, a lot of unforeseen consequences will arise. Including workers comp and lifetime disability related to football career-ending injuries.

Legally, the school has nothing to do with the NIL deals, right? Sitting out only hurts the team, not the NIL. I don’t get it.

Technically, this is true. But I would expect a ton of (impending) legal cases, since FOR DECADES the NCAA has imputed the actions of boosters onto the universities themselves. So get your popcorn.

When this happens, countless programs will be bankrupted within a handful of years.
