Jarren Williams

In order for a waiver to matter you have to have a P5 offer. Doesn’t look like he had one. He originally tried Western Kentucky and when that didn’t work out he went JC.

P5 coaches with 6 and 7 figure jobs on the line aren’t real interested in qb’s with the off field issues Jarren apparently had at Miami. They are saying, if this guy got the Miami job as a freshman and had this happen, why am I putting my job on the line for him?

He’s going to have to show he can put a season together at JC. I hope he can do it. I don’t wish ill on young kids who struggle to figure it out. However, this result was predictable based on what happened last year.
This is exactly it. He’s not going the JUCO route because he’s trying to be eligible in 2020. He’s going there because it’s his only option.

He stood a much better chance of being eligible with a waiver at a P5 school in 2020 than he does going to Garden City and then transferring into a P5 school at some point in 2020. If it was about playing right away without having to get a waiver he could have gone FCS and been eligible immediately.

I said it as soon as he quit here and everyone was claiming he’d just go straight to Kentucky as if they’re waiting for him. This dude was such a colossal mess here that his ONLY option was JUCO. This guy is a Last Chance U type of fck up.

Not surprised given his alleged off the field issues.

Like DMoney said teams are starting to look for high character guys from the NFL on down.

Don't you think he'd get a waiver pretty easily anyway with this Covid crisis?
I think if a P5 school really wanted him he'd be there. IMO, schools are taking a pass on him because of the baggage he created this past season. He needs to got to JUCO to prove himself and his maturity. He'll be better off having a clean slate if he shows maturity in his one season as a JUCO QB.

Dan Enos ruined this kids career with that vanilla *** offense. What are the chances he runs into two **** play-callers at the college level?

As a person who's made his share of youthful mistakes, I can't imagine being given the opportunity that Williams had and not doing everything I could to make the most of it.

Same for Enos, just for different reasons.

Jarren Williams ruined Jarren Williams' career. Kid was a world beater one week and looked a combination of hungover, disinterested and unprepared the next. Getting ****ed up and missing curfew the night before a game is squarely on him.

What if this isn't rock bottom for him yet? He goes to this school planning to try again in the spring but that never happens. JW ends up finishing at this school or moves to a 'better' FCS school while never sniffing P5 offers again?

That would be a tragic ending for this kid that had so much promise.
