Jarren Williams

Yes martell sucks because as a freshman he didn’t start behind JT, and a sophomore didn’t jump ahead of a guy that finished top 3 in the heisman and is a first round draft pick come April. Being behind burrows coming out of spring means nothing, they were trying to prevent him from transferring.

But you be you.
Make excuses all you want. He was behind Burrows. It is what it is.
Martell may turn out to be a really good player, but I'll drink the koolaid after I see the product on the field.

I hope we have 4 starting caliber qbs because somebody will tranfer is what it is but stack chips so depth is never a problem. Plumlee is a must get

GTFOH!!! He ain't no Baker Mayfield!!! If he were so good OSU never would have gone after Fields and Fields would have never gone to OSU.
If you don't think Day tried his *** off to keep Tate, then you're crazy man! Competition breeds excellence! Tate and Justin competing would have been perfect for OSU! Tate could have beat Justin out for all we know! Just like Fromm did at UGA!

Get your story straight. You made mention of Tate defiencies due to his height. You made no mention of playing behind 4 OL headed to the NFL draft. What if we put Rosier behind OU's offensive line and he had Riley as an OC? Do you not think he would've performed a lot better as well. Keep in context of your own narrative.

I was just supporting the fact that yes you can be successful as a shorter QB but the success rate is much lower and in Murray’s case he had a lot of positives helping him out.

I'm sure he did, but Martell made the decision to leave despite having a 2 year head start in the offense.

And since you stated Tate was short, I stated Murray was shorter and he had tremendous success.

If Martell was the "real deal" he'd still be at Ohio State. It's so funny how people think the grass is greener on the other side. Dude was 3rd string going into Fall camp behind Joe Burrows until Joe Burrows transferred to LSU. We saw what Borrows did. Serviceable but nothing special. So, what does that say about Martell?

Everyone rolling out the red carpet and getting all jiggy over what?
Have to wait and see you like everyone else will get that answer this next fall.til then everything else is just people s opinion.

with Tate coming and him most likely staying until his senior year what does Jarren Williams do.

the logical choice is he will transfer. i mean if he was talking about it before tate he will most likely transfer now.

if tate is the real deal he will be a senior when we play alabama in 2021. (yes im thinking ahead)
he stays and competes for job. diaz hasn't handed anyone a job they have to earn it. I th ink that will appeal to Williams. also martell has 2 yrs eligibility left Williams still has 4 yes he might transfer but I don't think he will. if martell doesn't get his waiver I expect Williams to be our qb vs florida

There could be a million reasons for that. Jaren Williams was 4th string last year. Does anyone believe he was the worst QB on our roster?

So does Kyler Murray.

So does Cam Newton, Troy Aikman, Russell Wilson, Ryan Mallet, Nick Foles, Jacoby Brissett, Jeff George (who wanted to be a Cane), Jeff Hostetler, Joe Flacco.....I mean at this point I’m just rattling off names off the top of the dome b/c I’m sure there’s way more.

One of the dumbest post I’ve seen, and I highly doubt a real Canes fan. Anyone trashing getting a highly touted transfer QB who showed y he was sought after in his limited time of action needs to be slapped to their senses.

This dude is obviously Jarren’s cousin.
Exactly what I was thinking and I like Jarren, a lot but there's nothing wrong with admitting another player is very likely better. The recruiting services agreed.... Jarren was a 4* and Tate was a 5* why can't people just be happy we're finally bringing in elite talent?

That doesn't mean anything. It is anecdotal. I'm sure Sumlin made the correct decision at that time. Don't forget Murray had to sit and develop before becoming a star.

And to your point, the same thing can be said about N'kosi or Jareen. We don't know what they will develop into. Could wind up being NFL QBs or busts.

🤷🏼‍♂️... means nothing! A lot of true freshman play throughout the country! A true freshman just won the national championship
A lot? How many p5 teams had true freshman starting QBs throughout this season for it to be alot? I'm curious. Not just a few games cause that's what any competent coach should do with the new redshirt rule but more than 4 games.
