Jarren Williams best QB on Roster

Perry looked the best to me. I need to see more of Williams, he really didn't blow me away. He has good size that's really all I can say. Also, the few times he threw the ball he looked good

he threw 3 passes. I like JW but literally we are basing everything off one throw to ezzard. I was at the game. I Thought Perry was slightly better than rosier vs the same competition and the sidelines/fans were as loud as a rock concert for everything he did. IMO Perry has the highest Upside of them all, Williams is going to be the best QB down the road but he's not ready

That's not true. He threw several passes in the spring game and looked by far the best of the QB's.

Bama runs the ball a ton and Georgia had a stable so that took the pressure off Fromm

UM has just as good skill position players compared to UGA last year. I'm not buying these excuses for a second. Jarren is better in the pocket, anticipates, and is more accurate than Malik. So the excuse that the OL at UM sucks is even more of an argument for Jarren to play. I'm fine with Perry getting the nod, but still believe Jarren is the truth.

One of the reasons why he may be #4 is not following Richts stringent system. Richt made a comment today that his TD was supposed to be a 100% give to the RB (Burns).

I personally like the QB to have the freedom to make a play.

Agreed, until we have a qb that can audible, and for good reason, we ain't sniffing a title.

Right now Jarren Williams is like Alyssa Milano during The "Who's The Boss" years. You just KNEW she was going to be the one but you simply couldn't play that card at the time. :beguiled:

The more I think about his statement, the more worried I become. Run the RPO but it is 100% a run play. Ummmkay

That's some Al Golden, "don't rise to the occasion, lean back on your training" bs.

Here’s the quote.

“He had his moments too,” Richt said of Williams. “He made a beautiful throw to Marquez Ezzard. The next throw was to Mark Pope and it looked like it was going to be wide open and Pope slipped coming out of his break. Jarren actually scored and pulled the ball when he should have handed it to Robert Burns. Jarren pulled it out of his belly and scored himself. It was supposed to be a 100 percent give.”

Richt is wrong here (Jarren May have called the wrong play) because the FB I believe was pulling around as a lead blocker for Williams. That play was def not a 100% give. I’m thinking Williams called a read/zone option instead of the run play.

Can't handcuff our qb's, JW will be the man, goes against the ole ball coach and scores. We needed more of that the last 15 years.

Jarren is by far the best qb because he has an arm and throws with anticipation that incomplete to pope was on the money and would’ve been in his chest when he turned around on the curl at least from what I could see on my phone

It looked like Burns was expecting the hand off honestly... and on the goalline, a RB who has been battling back from injuries since high school, and hasn't scored a TD since then.. the right thing to do is to let Burns get that TD

Every day we delay this move we are running the program sub-optimally. Perry is OK but not making right decisions and accuracy is not always there. Weldon in a game manager and a nice athlete. Rosier is what he has always been and that is not a starting QB for a top 25 team. Williams is our future and this year is not going anywhere of consequence with Rosier at the helm. How ineffective is Rosier to get a team started and in a groove? How many times do we have to see the same show where he can't get the offense in gear. Managing the game with short passes is just wasting the outstanding receiving talent we have all over the field.

I am most afraid that every UGA fan that I know is going to be right about Richt, I like the guy as a persona and a wish he would be successful but it would appear he is following the same path here as at UGA. I sat at the game yesterday and admitted to myself that I would feel better right now if Butch had been the choice, as bad as a game manager as he was back in the day, we would be moving ahead this season rather than taking a step backwards, which we are doing by leaving Rosier as the de facto starter.

One comparison I would make with Richt now and Butch in his time here of head scratching moves; Richt starting Rosier over Williams could make me almost forget Butch's choice of Dyral McMillan starting over Edgerrin James. This team is loaded but young, and is only missing a QB.
Not enough body of work to make the claim about Williams. He does look good. Just haven't seen enough and we may not.

I don't think Williams will be the guy this year. Knowledge of the playbook is a factor. The other cold hard truth is that if Williams became the starter say midseason, you would lose Perry and Weldon after the season. We would have 1 QB going into Sring and Fall. Ritch knows this.

The likely outcome is that Rosier is the starter for all of 2018. There will be a QB battle in the Spring that lasts thru the Fall. No QB will be named the 2019 starter until 2 weeks before the first game. This way all 3 QBs will remain on the roster until after the 2019 season.

We will need to recruit 2 QBs for the 2020 class. Preferably they are early enrollees so they could participate in the Spring 2020 practices. Otherwise, we could wind up with only 1 scholarship QB on the roster for Spring 2020 practices.
