Can anyone tell me how he got left off the list?
#2 in Total Tackles
#3T in Solo Tackles
#5T in sacks
#4T in Ints
#3T in TDs
#3T in FF
#2T in FR
#5 out of 9 safeties in PD

He also played 1 less game than most of them. The king of the Turnover Chain was in on 6 turnovers (2nd on list)

Jaquan should be on that list. The only thing I can come up with is that many of his biggest plays (such as the Pick 6 against UVA) have come late in the season (probably after the initial draft of the candidates was prepared).

He will be on the list next year. Derwin James is on the list based upon previous years.

Unreal, what a ****** joke

Most of those guys have half the stats JJ has, never mind the big time plays he has in prime time games

Not enough pre-season hype.

If reporters don't know your name before the season, they don't seem to be able to judge your accomplishments appropriately.. Weird..

I see a list full of NFL scout team players and unsigned "free agents"... while the best NFL prospect at safety didnt make the list???

Lol fckn joke.... hope it motivates JJ to go even harder on these clowns.

Thorpe award candidates, 45 of them were announced in July.

The list of 45 was trimmed down to the current semi-finalists on October 23rd.

JJ is having a **** of a season and it's a shame he's not in the list. Nobody expected this, not here or let alone by others compiling the candidates. ****, a couple of games into the season, all of last year, we had a bunch of posters asking for his departure.

Did Ed Reed ever win it??

No, finished second to Roy Williams of Texas in 2001.

Different types of safeties and Williams was badass as well, but I feel Reed should've gotten it. Williams was a beast in run support and he had one play against Texas that really stuck out eventually winning him the award IMO.

Highway robbery bro. But as others pointed out, he wasn't on the list early on. They should be able to revise the list once it's made though.
