James Williams 3.0

1. Are we pushing hard for Williams or just pushing?
2. Is he related to Paul, Jaren, Christian, Cameron, or Jarid Williams?
3. If we go undefeated or only lose 1-2 games doesn’t that mean we automatically get him?
4. Will there be a separate thread if he commits to us?

Was there ever a 6’3 safety before Sean Taylor?
Chancellor was a pro style qb recruit and ran the 40 in 4.62 at the combine and made several pro bowls. Was second team all acc and drafted in the 5th.
Athletes are changing.
30 years ago Calais Campbell and Aaron Judge would be basketball players. Until you put him out there against top level athletes you won’t know what you have.
He might actually get faster and quicker despite his size.
Has anyone ever watched lebron’s high school football highlights as a tight end? Freaking amazing.
We keep putting limits on what these athletes can do cause of our expectations on prototype sizes for a position.
The best qb in New York was playing point guard on the knicks cause he was “too small”. But now there is a 5’9 guy that won a heisman and was the number one pick.
Marshall Faulk was recruited by every p5 team as a db (including Miami) and if it wasn’t for the man being dead set on playing running back no one would’ve ever heard of him.

@jackbenimble71 , what do you know about Williams that you can’t tell us but that would make us shît?

Asking for a friend.

Mel Blount was a 6'3" CB back in the 70s with the Steelers, of course.

Stork was a plus-sized DE many moons before Campbell.

And Ed Jones with the Cowboys was even taller than Campbell back in the 70s, too.

As for Williams, he's been listed at 6'5" 218 for a year.

If those measureables were accurate, there is no way he hasn't grown.

Much, much more likely he ends up closer to the LOS - either at LB or at DE if he stays on defense.

How about breaking down some film

Man just do what you have to do. Let him play safety. He's as/more athletic than any non-Avante safety recruited in the Richt/Diaz era. We just had years of Knowles getting meaningful snaps. If Amari Carter can play safety Williams can for **** sure. People fall in love with the position changes too often here. By this logic, Derrick Henry couldn't have played running back at Miami. He's "too big" and "too stiff"; would need to move to tight end or defensive end. Get the elite talent in the fold and let him play what he wants. Give him every chance to ball out but if he puts on 20 lbs, or can't cover anyone at this level then move him. There's been too many kids the staff thought couldn't do something at Miami and they literally go on to do that thing at a higher level than anyone at their position at Miami.

The only way we get J.Willams if we got to the Acc championship game and put up a fight against Clemson

1. Both
2. No but could be a relative to Robin, Pharrel, Serena or Billy Dee.
3. 50/50
4. Id set the over under on 3 threads if he commits.
