I seriously doubt Any scouts have actually been watching Mauigoa enough to be having serious debates about his position at the next level yet lol. The 25 draft just ended, and Mauigoa wasn’t eligible for it. The don’t generally scout over a year early like that… certainly the GMs don’t

You seriously are an idiot and act like you know everything when you don’t know ****

It’s literally their job to scout years in advance

Don’t speak on **** that YOU have no idea how it works

Yeah this def isn’t true.

He had some good hidden gems, not like Butch though, Butch is the best cause the services weren't as accurate as now (even though they f up now as well) and he did that at that time is the most impressive roster in the history of the sport till this day.
Two completely different animals. Not trying to take nothing away from Satan as a coach or his legacy. But strictly as an evaluator of high school talent, Satan doesn't find **** near ANY hidden talent or **** near do any evaluations. They look at the rankings and let the offers fly. I know he's had one or two I'm sure more that were under the radar dudes that he hit on. But it's a very rare occurrence for Satan. All they ever care about is the five stars the four stars high-ranking kids cuz it justifies their recruiting ranks and their budget. Butch on the other hand had everybody scouting physically, out at games, at schools for practices, etc... That's why I always laugh with everybody now so reliant on websites for the rankings otherwise y'all think nobody's any good. Because when we were good it wasn't because of rankings and that's not saying the rankings were anywhere near what they are now or any of the rest of that but we didn't care about rankings we cared about developing whoever we brought in

It’s splitting hairs a little bit but when you take aggregate data from our last 4 coaches there’s a small case to be made that Richt actually had the worst recruiting results but the best on field results
The problem is always you guys don't distinguish the value of coaches coordinators and schemes. We either decide they're not relevant and talent is all that matters. Or all of the blame is placed on coaching. You'd figure people would have learned enough by now to realize it has to be a mesh. You don't recruit recruit a certain skill set one year than replace that coordinator one or two years in then again another year or two after that and think everybody will achieve that same development trajectory. We went from Rick's who is trying to run a pro set and had relatively good talent in place for it on every perspective except the offensive line. As a result of offensive line being trash Malik rozier became a record-setting quarterback Mike Harley became a reception's leader our running game never developed as we know my nephew was one of those receivers and I'm not going to try and defend him right now. Those rooms were destroyed before they got the ability to blossom. You can't go from Rick's and his pro set to Enos and his jokes to lashlee all within 3 years and assume you'll see what those kids should be. If we would have got wrecked five years before we did it would have been a very different conversation. Myself I love CMR not only for the man that he is as he is truly an amazing person but also the things he's done for this university and my family itself. I wish you guys would have got the same ability to see him and his vision for what it could have and should have been. Custom confuse his results with the joke that is Mandy Diaz is a travesty itself

Did you just not understand what I wrote?

Richts recruiting classes were solid but average per Florida recruit is actually a little bit below our other coaches

But his results were better than everyone elses

I’m literally saying he’s a better coach than the other 3 and as of right now I don’t think it’s even close

My bad. I just took a pain pill and I'm seeing things in Swahili. Because the way I read it was you said his recruiting wasn't up to par

He does look at the stars obviously but he has to know something. I dont think the rankings were as good as they are now when he had LSU pretty stacked before he left to UM. But I did not watch cfb heavy at that time so I dont know I could be wrong. LSU was about to turn into what Bama was but he left, and they have an operation over there that he left still till this day. Even goofy *** Brian Kelly can recruit there and they were complete hot dog water before Saban got there

Trust I was like hmm I may have said something I didn’t mean 🤣

But in another thread we were kinda dissecting how we’ve done in Florida. Manny had that Covid class that gave him a bit of a bump with Taylor and Williams but yeah it was some good aggregate stats

When you split up the recruiting rankings (in Florida) all 4 coaches were pretty close to each other but Richt to me clearly had better results

His last year was a tough one but obviously there was more than just football happening then

Anyway yeah I probably didn’t explain it too well

All of this.
The other two Florida schools were winning the so-called Recruiting Star wars from mid to late 1990s. DJ Williams was really the first win in the national 5 star recruiting wars. Not one school, not even the FSU, if,etc dweebs, could deny we got a kid they wanted badly. But most of the talent who comprised the great UM teams were not as highly-recruited as the revisionists would make us believe.

I wouldn't be mad at Francis landing here. The fact he can feasibly play G and/or RT should be a + not a negative. And I expect a guy like Francis to kill it in the combine.

Do yall boys think the light turns on for Samson, if he keeps grinding he could start at one of the tackle spots next year and the season after
