Do people not realize or remember he has and always been committed to Ohio State since his sophomore year!!!!

Like we were trying t flip him. He wasn’t uncommitted anywhere.

I have somebody that wants to move a huge set of goalposts. See above for details.

its a loss but its not for lack of trying. they did all they could do.

That would be a fine excuse if Manny Diaz was the HC. Cristobal is getting paid a lot of money to be a closer, and OL is supposed to be his wheelhouse (not surprising our other 5 stars are OL).. The number of 5 stars who are going to programs other than SEC/B1G is dwindling. The stats don't lie- going back to 2011, if you don't have at least six 5 stars on the roster you aren't going to be competitive for a national championship.

This was one of the rare 5 stars who was taking UM seriously and had us in front. If you can't close on an OL like this after being in front for months after offering more money AND the prospect of getting coach by Cristobal and Mirabal, then it's might be time to start planning for our next HC and focus only on HCs that have proven they can field a playoff caliber team without a roster full of 5 stars... since that is what we're going to have to get used to anyways.

And you can't use the excuse of Miami not being a culture fit- we weren't crossing our fingers and trying to flip him away from some KKK adjacent SEC school. We were the overwhelming favorite for months, and then something happened to drop us out of first place. I don't think he was using UM to up UGA's bag, but some unknown factor made the difference. I'm hoping it doesn't come out that his determining factor is that Smart convinced him UGA is on an upwards trajectory and we are on a downwards trajectory. If that's the case, it's going to hard for Cristobal to recover. I was worried missing the playoffs with Cam Ward was going to look really bad to recruits. I thought the only way to mitigate that perception was $$$. Miami would need to overpay to get the top kids until Cristobal could show more success on the field (at which point the price would come down). But if more $$$ isn't working now, that's a real bad sign and this might be the canary in the coalmine.

I probably shouldn't have any hope, but I'm still clinging to the tiniest optimism that Cristobal can reel him in.

No disrespect to the OL we’ve landed in 2024 and 2025. I hope they all ball out and develop into superstars

But we haven’t landed much at OL (ranking wise) since Mario’s bump class in 2023

Hopefully Bell can take a step and SJ is the goods but we haven’t been winning the big recruiting battles at OL
