Ivins talking Miami QB's on NBC

Yea, just no.

That is the exact problem with the whole depending on that - revenge of the nerds aka use a computer program/app; Instead of being acknowledged at all in any topic. The individuals who just copy and paste another persons opinion, and especially some artificial intelligence stupidity should just keep the mouth shut. And/or just not type away on whateer form of keyboard the person types away on.

You are disputing the wrong thing.

TVD is just as athletic as DeShaun Watson. That’s a fact not an opinion.

What you’re arguing is if TVD is the same caliber of playmaker with that athleticism. No one here is saying that.

This was only brought up for those who have concerns about TVDs fit in a spread.

One thing that is troubling for 2021. We brought in a QB to run Enos offense and now we are going up tempo spread.
Hope Van Dyke and Lashlee can adjust to each other.
True but also we could make a **** of a list of Florida QBs we passed on because we DIDNT run this type of offense over the last 10 years

Opening combine results:

Deshaun Watson: 6’3, 190, 4.89 forty, 4.24 shuttle, 39 powerball
Tyler Van Dyke: 6’4, 212, 4.91 forty, 4.28 shuttle, 38.5 shuttle

Nobody is saying that TVD is the same athlete as Watson. We’re saying TVD is a much better athlete than people realize. And that’s supported by verified testing and his multi-sport background.

And if he doesn't have the same feel for the game which the nfl same old head coaches dub 'Football I.Q." or at the underwear olympics aka combine. It doesn't matter what type of computer tests or how fast he runs in a straight line, etc etc. Just because one person appears similar to another established athlete it doesn't matter any of the - wonderlic, and computer recording numbers they use. Marvin Harrison had a quote that was aired on television, paraphrased basically like this; In his opinion he earned his contracts in the nfl because of the work the team put in during training camp. But he got paid because of the days of practice between the games as they scouted the opponents to have the best offense during those years with the colts.. I honestly hate when these so called established nfl scouts etc & fantasy football [Might a well be] gurus think they know everything. Its the ultimate team game as well. So its pointless to put up any computerized data tested results.

I'll use the nfl team I grew up to being a fan of, the jets; Darrelle Revis was clearly the best corner back at shutting down the opposite teams best wide receiver akin to Deion Sanders. Deion Sanders was/is known as one of most athletic athletes to play an sport / baseball & nfl professional. Darrelle Revis the majority of the scouts said he wasn't quick and/or fast enough to be the type of shut down defensive back he was known for before he tore up his knee. And anyone actually looks up his forty yard dash time; It was taken from his Pittsburgh pro day which everyone on this very website always like to say the scouts and team coaches alike exaggerate the glorified workout results.

Its literally the same difference as the same exact individual stating the american football is the most difficult sport to compare each player. But the majority of the time the so called experts piggy back on the nfl combine.. But at the same time the general fan and actual teams personal call it the underwear Olympics. If the kid is good enough to get invited to the scouting event - then they clearly have shown in college that they know how to play the actual / on the record games. Then you have un drafted and late round kids who become good to great overall.

It's essential that we get a GT QB this year so that we don't force TVD to be out there before he's ready.

Let him shirt for a year & get acclimated to Lashlee's offense then come next year let TVD, Matocha & whoever we sign for the 21 class duke it out for the starter role.

Regardless of what happens with Diaz this season, I truly hope we can keep Lashlee here for at least another year. It's super important for the structure of this program's future that we keep a Spread offense in Miami.
