ITT We Follow Potential 2015 Coaching Candidate Week 4

Agree.

But, for me, Morris' familiarity with the ACC is a positive in his consideration. Maybe it shouldn't be ... But I think there is value in him having coached in Doak Walker before, and in him recruiting to the conference.

But I get your point.

Golden and RS have the same experience (Doak Walker and Recruiting), do you want them as HC?

IMO, Morris is on a wait and see list. As we know, no one is a "sure thing" but Morris is definitely a riskier choice. Now that we see him running a WHOLE program, we get to see what he can really do.

Fair point.

Shannon and Golden have both proven incapable of doing the job.

I'm not sure I've seen your posts on Herman ... Do you have him on the "wait and see" list, too?

As for Herman, he had a nice road win over UL. It also looks like OSU is having major issues without him. If Herman continues to have this success, he would be a very good candidate. That game against Memphis is pretty big for both coaches.

Houston, unlike Memphis, wasn't in as bad a shape when he took over. Houston has somewhat of a football program as we know.

Sumlin and Levine combined for 57-34 (38-18), 4 Bowl Wins in 6 appearances and 2 Division Titles.

Also, look at the QB he has at Houston

the only guy id take is herman maybe chad morris, make a case for fuente, the only name that should be at the top of everyones list is herman

Herman's Houston Cougars were favored by 17.5 tonight at home against Texas State coming off their bye week.

Houston won 59-14. Ward's looking like one of the most dynamic dual-threat QBs in the country and their offense looks fantastic.

Herman is continuing to have success in his first season and that offense looks great. That QB can certainly play.

AAC will continue to be a fun conference to watch this season.

Morris just lost to James Madison yesterday.
However, it's early for him at that school which was terrible last season, so I'm not trying to kill ya. LOL.

The second reason I mention this game is for the Butch Davis Circle Jerkers, the JMU coach was Butch's last
DC at UNC and he has quite an offense on that team thus far, this season.
Lots of young assistant coaches on his staff. His co-OCs hail from the Dan Mullen/Urban Meyer coaching tree,
and he has another assistant from Nick Saban's staff.
Someone to keep an eye for the future, after he jumps to his next gig, which
will probably be a mid-level program.

Mark Richt.
Great recruiter, always has an impressive team on both sides of the ball, made Georgia a power house, a Miami alumni.

LOL

But the guy who continually knocks Mark Richt seems to think Mark Stoops would be some amazing hire ...

LOL

Yall dudes are funny!

Richt has a 75% winning percentage, overall ... And he's 71% in the SEC.

He's also got 2 SEC East titles in the past 6 years, and 2 Top 10 ranking during that period.

Yeah, UGA is a powerhouse ... As evidenced by them being the favorite to beat Bama this weekend.

Now, has he lost games he shouldn't have? Absolutely! But he's still a great HC, and runs a great program!

... And no chance he would leave UGA for Miami!

Unranked 3 of last 6 years, powerhouse.

I've said this 3-4 times in this thread, I'm less concerned about new HC's record as opposed to style of play and other factors.

Richt is an okay coach but he isn't going to build a team that will crush college football. He is in a spot where UGA should be competing for NCs on a yearly basis and he hasn't done it. Richt isn't a savage.

And yes I still think Mark Stoops would be a good hire here, along with a few other names thrown around in this thread.

In my eyes, he has gotten the most out of Georgia as he can get, they aren't a great area to recruit plus anyone in the area of Athens is also in an area of Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee, Clemson, and South Carolina. All of those schools are within 5 hours to Athens. The only p5 team for Miami within 5 hours is Florida. I honestly think he has gotten the most he can out of Georgia and if he got offered by his former alumni I think he would definitely consider it.

Huh, they have one of the best areas to recruit from in the nation.
