rewatch he game. he really wasn't. he had a good last drive though but the offense was fully handicapped too. the diff is emory isnt fully broken though.

the issues are beyond just TVD though. hes playing like **** but the offense was fully reverted going back to the beginning of conf play. the only time they fully open it up is when they have to down multiple scores (see UNC and ATM). they looked like different versions of the O. regardless of the OC, it looks like there will always be a dominant trait w the offenses here unless the HC goes fully hands off and sits on his mindset. sort of need a co-HC on the O side

Yes. TVD cannot read a defense. It is hard to grasp how that is not partial b.c. of poor or mediocre coaching. You think it USC's coach was our coach that TVD would be this bad?

You are pretending coaching does not effect outcome.

Can you explain the difference between a well coached QB and poorly coached QB?

This. I think Emory is our best chance at growing the QB position. TVD is done. Pull him.

Maybe he doesn’t process quickly enough. That’s a natural skill not one that can be learned. TVD has had several coaches both at Miami and outside Miami during the offseason, you’re telling me nobody bothered to explain to him what a cover 2 is?

Just because he isn’t seeing it when the bullets are flying doesn’t mean he isn’t being taught it. Dawson QB at Houston could read a defense, so did Dawson just forget he had to coach up his QB or is it maybe just that TVD isn’t getting it because HE isn’t getting it
 
Mario called TVD the best QB in the country when he got here. And maybe he lost his mojo because he's been neutered in 2 different offenses now that try to force him to play through his weaknesses instead of highlighting/using his strengths?

At the end of the day, this all falls on Mario. "Everything rises and falls on leadership."

And no, Mario should not have benched TVD. Because we have literally nothing behind him. Emory and Brown are both worse. Emory is a true freshman and he showed nothing against Clemson. We saw Brown last year and he’s not a good passer.

We have seen TVD play well this year and TVD has the most immediate upside of the three QB. The only chance we have of beating FSU is a good TVD. Jacurri or Emory on their best day both lose to FSU, but TVD on his best day gives us a shot. The problem is he’s in s bad slump, but I totally get why the coaches are riding with him.

Next season though they gotta get another option out the portal.

Both Emory and Jaccuri should have gotten a private qb coach to prepare them in the off season. Tyler worked with malik rosier as a private qb coach , which is sad, given he wanted to be a top 10 pick. Malik wasn't technically sound as a player nor apparently as qb coach either, which is why he is a radio commentator now. TVD should have invested more of that NIL money on perfecting his craft and also working with a leadership coach.

Part of its coaching. We’re significantly more talented than last years team. We should be looking at atleast 8 wins this season

You can see it in his body language. There is no way you put a guy out there that has that type of energy. Say what you will about Williams, but that kid at least has energy and will to win.

I haven’t commented on him because I’ve coached from middle school all the way up to FCS football. I don’t diss players. When he threw that int to that pass to George I was done. There was no reason to throw the ball to the only place the corner could intercept it in the red zone. My wife even said why would you throw it there in the red zone. I gave him a pass when he said he rather play on the road than at home. Probably cause his soft *** doesn’t wanna get booed. Suck it up and make the right read. I gave him a pass when he allegedly flirted with Alabama and didn’t come out and say that’s false just waited out his nil and got more cash. I’m done with his ***. He’s a ***** and I would tell him to his face cause we baby these dudes too much!

Of course he is being taught it, but he is not being taught if effectively. My wife is an effective special ed teacher and she can make breakthroughs w kids that other teachers can't. Not b.c. other teachers are not trying, but b.c. she is talented/more talented at it.

Dawson may have had success w other QB's, but his methods have not worked w TVD. One size fits all approaches generally fail. Don't the best coordinators tailor game plans to their players and teams they are playing? Dawson can prob succeed w certain QB's, but TVD's collapse is a red flag about his ceiling.

You seem to largely make TVD accountable for his failures. I see it that Dawson/Mario are equally as accountable as TVD. [BGCOLOR=initial] I can't remember a QB having such an epic, rapid decline in one season. It is a rare occurrence. IMO, QB's do not go from Heisman talk to unplayable if they are well coached. Funny seeing folks on here blaming Dawson and his scheme as if he wasn’t a good OC who turned a dude in Tune into a starting NFL QB at Houston

Call the spade a spade… Tyler is broken, he can’t read defenses, and he’s injury prone which has made the other two things worse.

Get a solid dual threat Qb that can throw we’re a totally different team. For how many years now we’ve had a turnstile of coaches with the same result. Want to be elite with this defense? Get a QB.

I would rather lose with Emory right now. TVD is broken beyond repair and is not the future.
