I disagree that PT against Savannah State is meaningless. It’s a chance to go out there in live—relatively safe— action against a defense that isn’t following script.
It might not close the book on anything, but go out there, run the offense properly, complete some passes. Someone will look better today. Someone will show that they deserve more meaningful snaps as we ratchet competition up a notch next week.
We likely won’t have the opportunity to play as many QBs next weekend as this, so today is a chance to see who will go in first next weekend.
My opinion? Rosier starts today simply because Richt isn’t going to stir up unnecessary drama by trotting someone else out there for the first series. We may see someone else—N’kosi, Cade, or both—out there in situational work during the second or third series, with whom ever performs better, taking a majority of the reps through the third. Malik’s day is done by halftime, and Williams plays the 4th.
