The problem with the offense is very simple. UM needs to recruit better athletes. Let's talk about the vertical routes everyone is complaining about. These are the same routes that Art Briles made famous at Baylor. The difference is that Baylor had 4.3 forty athletes running those routes.
UM's 4 wideout package consists of Lewis, Njoku, Coley and Richardson or Beerios, Coley, Lewis and Richardson. If UM had Mullens, Richardson, Coley and Sam Bruce running those routes the outcome would be totally different because all those players can flat out fly. The problem is that no one fears our wideouts. It is very easy for a defense to shadow Coley and Richardson because they know Lewis and Berrios pose little to no threat.
It is no secret that we only target two receivers. Replace Berrios and Lewis with Sam Bruce and Mullins and defenses are forced to defend them because on those vertical routes Bruce and Mullins would get over the top of the defense.
I agree .than the issue would be could Kaaya find the mismatch . Mullins , Richards ,Harley one speedy wr I believe we would have people open especially some body like henderson
