I've never went more than a couple of days without checking out the site since I joined. Over the course of a year the site has been steadily getting worse. Opinions on how to make this program better is one thing but the rhetoric and bashing you have to endure on just about every post is another. I will not post here again unless there is a dramatic tone change on this FAN site. I know there are a number of fans on this site that feel the same way as I do... but its the few that makes the most noise and set the tone of the site. Pardon the drama of an announcement... but my purpose is to let those that share my same convictions, know that I will still check and respond to the direct messages.

Pops if we START OUT 3-0 you'll see a big change...we were much more positive 2 -3 years ago...You should've seen this board when Golden was hired.Felt like we have been sprayed with the ghost buster slime how positive this board was.... Realize this is therapy for us... we love these canes but can only be positive for so long.....I understand your plight..but trust me youll be back after our first win....If we beat Nebraska oh boy...youll be back and it will be great here( for 1 week)... but until then do what you gotta do

The white posters were pumping up Golden because he is a white boy like them and he speaks w better diction that Randy. That's why I love the fact that these same "closet racists" have ruined this site because their white leader can't coach. Even though temple posters said the very same and a black columnist. Mr. Whitlock said he was terrible and didn't deserve this job.

With all due respect to the OP, sending your son to play for Al Golden is.... well, I wish you and him good luck. You are going to need it. Hope he gets better coaching and leadership after the inevitable happens.

While I understand the frustration with AG from our vantage point, doesn't the father of a prime recruit have a more informed perspective? I mean, how many of us have met AG and actually talked to him? I haven't and venture to guess that 99% of those posting have never gotten close to him. Seems to me that the OP is in a far better position to evaluate the program, the coaches and all the intangibles then any of us are.

Look at it like a business. You have one of your best customers telling you he doesn't like what he sees in your shop. You tell him to **** off without looking in the mirror and reflecting on what that means.

So you don't like the coach, we get it already...try and be respectful about it for a change is the only point I would add.

I don't need to be chums with the Del Taco nightshift manager to know that his food is going to give me the ***** when I wake up with a hangover the next morning.

The crazy thing is that half of you don't get the point he's making. how many of you have ever met a college coach? know a highly recruited high school player? like cal jimmy said this is a business. Golden needs to perform on the field but we have a person thats directly in the know that is willing to send his highly recruited son to play for the people that he and his family has personally developed a relationship with and you guys dont know **** about golden and his staff except the stats under a bad 4 year stretch. if Golden is good enough to the eyes of these recruits and their families dont get ****ed off when the families tell you that they're tired of your ****. You guys are bashing golden and his staff that has an excellent class coming in but yet want golden gone. Yall are fools if you think a new staff that doesnt include coley,art, hurlie, kb and kareem brown is going to hold this class together. Just curious, if you are so upbeat and positive about how great this year is going to be, why place such a safe bet as over or under. That’s betting on your team to be just a tad above mediocre, not showing much faith at all. One would think if you had that much confidence and wanted to put your money where you mouth is, you would bet the canes will win 10 or more games this season. Otherwise, it is just another distraction and smoke screen. I would take that bet even though I have different opinions on how this team is being ran, but as a real fan I will never bet against the canes. I think the others that disagree with you and the program may feel the same way about betting against their team. So your point of being scared or not taking your bet is absurd.

I have no idea what the over/under is. I actually believe/hope that we will be 13-1 this year.

I've never bet against the Canes, but I see dozens of pages extolling things like "hoping for losses," and it makes me shutter.

My point was, that one poster picked out a number of posts I made out of thousands, and attempted to belittle me.

He does this only out of spite. No other reason, and I made a legitimate wage with him. He thinks we will be crap this year and I don't think so.
I think the exact opposite.
I can never bet preseason that we will run the table. It's happened 5 times in 3 decades for us. I'm an optimist, but I'm also a realist.

My wager was made because I don't like the poster.

Out of habit I still come back here, but it only takes a minute to be reminded that it's not worth it. At this point, all that matters are W's and L's and luckily we're only a few days away from the start of the season.
