Our defensive scheme that hasn't changed in 4 years? Our offense which sets a record for being the slowest offense since the 20's? 2 gapping vs. 1 gapping? Dropping our DL into zones?

Wouldn't it make sense to talk about the biggest issue with the program?

I understand that and thats fine and dandy. Nobody is say all is well. Nobody is saying we should be happy. Nobody is saying golden and the admin is exempt from our wrath. All uknowwhat and others are saying is 90% of the threads turn into golden sucks/fire golden.

That is because he is the biggest issue with the program. Do you blame them for focusing on him?

Not at all. It just doesnt have to take over every thread. I want golden gone just as bad as you. But i also like talking football and letting all the politcs take care of themselves.

Don't forget fire Donna. I remember many discussions couple years ago about Xs &Os, schemes and such. Some people here know a lot about that stuff. But when it became clear that Al had no intention to change any of those things, the discussions moved more and more toward solutions. Since Al would make not change, most determined the only solution was to fire Al and as many as those who had anything to do with the last 10 or so years. Makes sense. You can only say, "dang, profits are down again. I wonder why." Eventually you have to start firing the leaders.

Just wait it out. If you're too annoyed with the current state, come back in 4 days when we can talk about what's happening on the field. The only people consistently watching what's happening on the practice field are not in the position to divulge too much of that information. That will change when we have games.

The saddest part of this season is that I write an article to start each season. About 750 words in this year, I couldn't bring myself to finish it. I felt like I was repeating myself. I've been following this program since I'm 5 years old. Like, memorizing player names and deeply following every aspect. I have never felt so numb going into a season. And, I won't delude myself into positivity. If Golden turns everything around and we win 10-11 games and, more importantly, some meaningful wins, GREAT. There just isn't any evidence, at all, that will occur. To the contrary, there's a pile of evidence things will stay more or less as we've seen them.

I know with things like the work basically turning into a newspaper piece instead of something like inside access, it has killed alot of the football talk. The good thing is football starts tomorrow, and we play Saturday so as you said, then we can start talking about whats happening on the field, good or bad

The fact of the matter is that the administration assured this fecal show when it retained Folden after last season. Had the administration acted in manner consistent with a desire to put a winning product on the field, these boards wouldn't look like this.

1. 16-16 in the ACC
2. 0-4 against FSU
3. 0 Bowl Wins
4. 0 ACCCG Appearances
5. 11 Losses in his last 19 Games
6. 28-22 Record Overall (with wins against the following Bethune Cookman x 2, Savannah State, FAMU, FAU and Arkansas State)
7. Losing Record in 2014 (4 years into his tenure)

He just needs one more year.

This thread is a perfect example of whats wrong with this site. A well respected poster says he is taking a hiatus and people still come in here to talk crap. Now if it was franchise or some other smuck who wines in every post, i guarantee you, you would have nothing to say

See, this is not a "football" site; it is a CANE FOOTBALL site. There is a difference. Cane football is winning NCs and sometimes being cheat out of them, and occasionally actually getting bet out of one, and in between, wining a lot of games by embarrassing scores and scaring the living crap out of everyone. Since we have not have any football like that for a long, long time we hunt for the reasons and talk about that. We really don't care about anyone "need" to talk normal football like little girls gossiping. As long as it is a Cane site, you have to live with fans who have no use for the good old day of PRE-Howard. Those days sucked. I remember going to game just to watch the Stork sack people. As much as I love Ted, that sucked. Watching JJ's team destroy PROGRAMS was much more fun. It is not about the Xs and Os or the Jimmies and the Joes, it is about the Ws and the Ls, period.

I used to think that fans had no affect on games except on game day. The Orange Bowl used to literally shudder, and you could see opposing players looking around the stands with worry on their faces.

Now, with the internet and anonymity, a lot of bile gets spewed which recruits and players read. Even though 99% of the vomit is opinion and not fact, to an impressionable mind an impact is made.
