If you ever wonder why I take PFF with a grain of salt…

Right where I'd expect a team filling ~3 spots would be. This is Mirabal/Mario's chance to prove they really do develop OL and Sewell wasn't just an exception (who only played 1.5 seasons in 3y) to the rule. They've had very few OL drafted rounds 1-4 btwn Eugene and now Coral Gables.

They left an Oregon OL who did get drafted R1-4 but he was a backup their lone year with him. Sewell was a top-50 player like Mauigoa. These are 'don't f- 'em up' blue chippers.

Trumpycane not sure why everyone thinks Sewell was anywhere near Cici as a recruit

Guess M&M did some developing

You know mario coached o-line at bama too right? Ryan Kelly was a 1st round pick under Mario and Cam Robinson went 2nd round. So I don’t think Mario has anything to prove as far as o-line goes
I’m sure it was tough developing Cam Robinson a sure fire 5*. Kelly was no2 C in the country coming out of HS.

It was Bama- did they produce OL before-after Mario? The Saban Effect. Much like Lane, Sark, McElwain etc. gotta be judged by production away from Nicky.

Trumpycane’s point was he wasn’t some sure fire recruit, also 7 spots 🧸
Ironman will take 53 to fit his narrative like DonaldTrumpyCane chose 57 to fit yours.

The IMG move was brilliant for Maui. Flapjack should’ve gone too. Didn’t hurt Sewell a blue chipper long term.

Oh so you only get credit if the player a 3 star or lower? Hartline gets praised for development and all they do is bring in highly ranked wrs. Francis was a 5 star so he doesn’t count? Of course higher ranked players have a better chance that’s why they are ranked high. He had other linemen drafted at oregon that wasn’t high picks but he got them nfl checks

I never praised Hartline for anything here. But he certainly can acquire.

53 still doesn't fit your narrative since you said he was a top 50 recruit

He was ranked 60 by rivals, 129th by ESPN, 53 by 247

TrumpyCane thinks you need to check your facts

Ironman said I missed by 3 off the top of my head without looking it up. Still a blue chip, can't miss prospect. Ironman thinks you need to realize no one looks at ESPN.

B/c OTs r more valuable than OGs & C’s.

OTs, are as coveted as QBs, WRs, DLs, & CBs.

Sewell was the #2 OG in the entire nation, which is no small feat; to put this in perspective, do u know how many OGs appeared in the top 60 in CiCi’s Class of 2023? Zero. Do u know how many OTs? 6

Furthermore, I don’t think we remember how productive the class of 2018 was, so allow me to remind us:

1. Trevor Lawrence (Pro) - 1st Rd Pick
2. Justin Fields (Dual) - 1st Rd Pick
3. Xavier Thomas (SDE) - 5th Rd Pick
4. Eyabi Okie-Anoma (WDE)
5. Micah Parsons (WDE) - 1st Rd Pick
6. Pat Surtain II (CB) - 1st Rd Pick
7. Nicholas Petit-Frere (OT) - 3rd Rd Pick
8. Justin Shorter (WR) - 5th Rd Pick
9. Zamir White (RB) - 4th Rd Pick
10. Jamaree Salyer (OG) - 6th Rd Pick
11. Amon Ra St Brown (WR) - 4th Rd Pick
12. Tyson Campbell (CB) - 2nd Rd Pick
13. Terrace Marshall (WR) - 2nd Rd Pick
14. KJ Henry (WDE) - 5th Rd Pick
15. Palaie Gaoteote IV (ILB)
16. JT Daniels (Pro)
17. Jackson Carmen (OT) - 2nd Rd Pick
18. Adam Anderson (OLB)
19. Caden Sterns (S) - 5th Rd Pick
20. Taron Vincent (DT)
21. Tyreke Johnson (S)
22. Cade Mays (OT) - 6th Rd Pick
23. Brenton Cox (SDE)
24. BJ Foster (S)
25. Lorenzo LinGawd (RB)
26. Derion Kendrick (WR) - 6th Rd Pick
27. Ricky Slade (APB)
28. Olaijah Griffin (CB)
29. Brey Walker (OT)
30. Jaelen Gill (APB)
31. Quay Walker (OLB) - 1st Rd Pick
32. Issac Taylor Stuart (CB)
33. Brevin Jordan (TE) - 5th Rd Pick
34. Tyreke Smith (WDE) - 5th Rd Pick
35. Jaiden Lars-Woodbey (S)
36. Dorian Thompson-Robinson (Dual) - 5th Rd Pick
37. Jeremy Ruckert (TE) - 3rd Rd Pick
38. Brendan Radley-Hines (CB)
39. Jaylen Waddle (WR) - 1st Rd Pick
40. Devon Williams (WR)
41. James Cook (APB) - 2nd Rd Pick
42. Kelvin Joseph (S) - 2nd Rd Pick
43. Justin Rogers (Dual)
44. Teradja Mitchell (ILB)
45. Justyn Ross (WR) - UDFA (2x SB Champion)
46. Tanner McKee (Pro) - 6th Rd Pick
47. Jalen Green (CB)
48. JJ Peterson (OLB)
49. Joey Gatewood (ATH)
50. AJ Lyton (CB)
51. Luke Ford (TE)
52. DeMarvion Overshown (S) - 3rd Rd Pick
53. William Barnes (OT)
54. Nesta Silvera (DT) - 7th Rd Pick
55. Tommy Togiai (DT) - 4th Rd Pick
56. Kyler McMichael (CB)
57. Penei Sewell (OG) - 1st Rd Pick
58. Jordyn Adams (WR) - 1st Rd Pick MLB
59. Marquis Spiker (WR)
60. Asante Samuel Jr (CB) - 2nd Rd Pick

So in its fullest context, Sewell was 100% the prospect of CiCi. CiCi was ranked the #1 OT in the nation, a coveted position, while Sewell was ranked the #2 OG position in the nation, an often overlooked & undervalued position. Both stepped on campus & immediately became alphas

Cristobal said by the 3rd practice Sewell was with the 1st team and never looked back
