If you are Fedora, why do you take this job over being HC at Temple?

It's a young guys game and Fedora will be 57 next season. I doubt he gets a "quality G5 HC job. ****, Stoops and Meyer quit at 56 and 54 years old. The business takes its toll. Saban keeps going because they have an NFL style program from assistants to football ops and anything in between! If Temple offers, I think he goes. His HC clock is ticking

G5 teams will hire “name” coaches. Even guys approaching 60.

Fedora and his agent know this. It’s why he hasn’t agreed to take the Miami job, despite it being common knowledge he’s the leading candidate.

I’m not saying don’t hire him

Then what are you saying? You end it with “might be better to throw something new at them.”

Implying maybe we should look into an oc outside of the acc is how I took your post.

“It might “ not saying that it will

Meh. Name the last time Miami hired a truly qualified, top-notch OC/DC with head coaching experience. Y'all are acting like we haven't been run by retarded people for the last 15 years. Don't compare Larry Fedora to James Coley and Mark Whipple. But oh, by the way, Jedd Fisch did go on to the NFL.

Manny has proven he is not a ******? Fisch got a job as an OC in the NFL. If Fedora's is as good as 90% of you make him out to be, he probably has offers as an NFL OC.

That’s not the point!!! People are acting like it’s dumb to want to be a HC at Temple and not be our OC.

His best HC days are in his rear view mirror. I promise you Larry Fedora is old news in the HC world and his ceiling is limited.

Has nothing at all to do with Manny. You guys are holding up "since 1998" as though it means an OC, specifically Fedora, can't turn our OC job into a bigger job in a short amount of time. I'm saying, you're right, we haven't seen that happen but it's not because this job can't do that, it's because we've been hiring cheap, unqualified and uninspiring coordinators for the past 20 years.

This isn't that hard to follow along with...

But now, you've got me completely confused. Is Fedora too good for us, or do you not want him because you don't think he's good enough? And if you don't want him because you don't think he's good enough, why don't you just state that case instead of saying he shouldn't come here because he can advance his career better at Temple? I'll apologize, but those appear to be two very contradictory viewpoints, but yet you seem to not only hold both views, but are arguing them simultaneously. So which is it? Is he too good for us, or are we too good for him?

And, please, if you would like a response, please be clear and concise. If I can't understand what the **** you are trying to say, I'm afraid I'm going to have to go ahead and just move on.

I don't recall having read anyone saying it's dumb. I can see both viewpoints, for sure, and I think there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for both sides of the debate. Personally, I think he can raise his "Q" rating much higher and more quickly here, but I'll concede that the subject is entirely debatable.

Fedora isn't getting any younger but if he wants to finish his career as a HC. At programs like So Miss, UNC, Temple and whatever other no name gig. Take the Temple job.QUOTE]

He's got that ageless male thing going on. He doesn't need to hurry. But he does seem to have a bit of an ego. Head coach does sound better than Offensive Coordinator.

2 years of success here and he's probably back at a Power 5. 2 years winning 8 games at Temple and he's probably still stuck at Temple.

Can't wait around too much longer for Fedora. **** or get off the pot. Recruiting is ramping back up soon.

If he’s has an offer to be a HC at a school like Temple that sends coaches to bigger jobs like a factory he should and probably would take it.

Just makes sense.

Agree, taking off my O&G glasses, it's always better to be the man than work for the man...or something catchy like that.

Is it a more forward move in your coaching career, after being a head coach, to be Manny's employee at a bigger program vs. being the head guy at a place like Temple? Manny obviously thought being the HC at Temple trumped being a coordinator at the U.
Temple will be announcing there HC SOON ...SORCE SAY ITS FRAN BROWN...a defensive minded coach......

Another thing, fedora has been in the acc since what 2012 or so? All of these acc coaches have seen his offense, they would be able to defend it better in terms of game planning to stop it. These coaches would already know what he has done or going to do you know what I mean? Might be better to throw something new at them

Well according to Fedora himself he never runs the exact same offense every year. He likes to change some things within his offensive approach like adding new plays and removing old ones on an annual basis
