If the people want Jurich then demand Jurich

Is this even a true representation of what’s going on or just some fictional narrative based on the fact some people were expecting an announcement already based on a radio show tweet? We want good process until it takes several days. It’s most important that they get it right.
Hard to know but enough people from different sources are reporting it along those lines so there must be something to it.

They really don’t. As I mentioned when it happened - the Herbstreit thing mattered and was going to be a difference maker.

That was worth more than any banner or banners which could ever be flown here.

But can we put Kirk on the back of a billboard truck and have him drive around Miami?

From what i have read about this guy hes an alpha bring him in.
the city wanted the Yum Center built in a different location and Jurich basically said "f*ck what they talking about" and built it downtown waterfront. he also got two separate expansions to Cardinal completed in under a decade. dude is a straight menace.

The part that is hard to comprehend is that, if the decision has been made, then what could the BOT be debating?

I understand if a decision was made but for many sound undisclosed reasons, it has not been made public. For example, optics, timing with other decisions, impact to internal employees and communication with other candidates, etc. Zero issue with the wait.

However, if there is truly a power struggle between the old guard vs. the new guard, then the decision was never made. There might have been a recommendation or an initial favorable, non binding vote, but there was no final decision.

My comments are NOT intended to discredit any insider (I appreciate and am grateful for their contributions). I am just having a difficult time reconciling the report that a final decision was made with reports that an internal battle rages between two factions of the BOT.
Let me tell you where you are going wrong my friend....you are trying to apply logic and common sense when analyzing the actions of the BOT. Remove all logic and common sense to your analysis and then it all makes perfect sense.

Completely agree there. If we ever win another championship we need a statue of Herb during that broadcast

Judging by your calm and humorous demeanor, I am going to guess that in spite of a few rough patches things are playing out as they should behind the curtain.

I mean, I seen how you get when things come off the rails. Heaven forbid if the new AD ever takes away the green lot and makes you walk really far.

Just messing around, the info you bring is greatly appreciated.

Most of the time when one program hires a guy who was at another program, the fanbase at the former program will crap on the hire and say the guy wasn't as good as everyone thinks. I was just reading the Louisville boards and it's nearly unanimous in their fans wishing he would return to their program and crediting him for putting them on the map. Strong Sam Jankovich vibes

247 is reporting essentially that the BOT will have no say and the Diaz crowd is just making a lot of noise. That seems most likely to me. The alternative is that the U is a very poorly run organization with entirely ineffective leadership. I think this will take some time and that’s a good thing IMO. I also suspect (uninformed guess) that both the AD and eventual HC will not be from among the three popular names that get thrown around all the time (Jurich, Mario, and Lane). All of that is assuming Frenk and the people close to him are reasonably competent and engaged. Not a popular opinion here, but I think it’s probably true and the role of the BOT is greatly exaggerated.

I have no sources but a common theme from many insiders is there is a deadlock between the new faces and the old guard on the BOT on whether to hire Tom Jurich. Canes fans are known for making their voices heard so where are those voices? Who is organizing a banner? Who is organizing Twitter and Facebook activity. Who is going to break the stalemate?
I'm calling the bullpen.

Bring me Herbie, I gotta feeling...

"The alternative is that the U is a very poorly run organization with entirely ineffective leadership"

Respectfully...I think that the last 20 years have proven that this is the most likely scenario.
