Goes like this the old guard want Tony Hernandez(they know keeping Strawley would result in a civil war) so they can have another stooge/puppet to be the scapegoat for more failed decisions. They will hire Zo to appease the fan base and Tony will sit there and say nothing like a good little sheep.

This is a giant PR situation that needs to be managed, so don't believe much of what you read.

I will tell you this, nothing that has happened in the last 24 hours has made me think Jurich isn't coming. He may not be, but if he is, there is no way a ******* alpha bear like that is going to take an AD job where a bunch of car rental CEO's fire and hire the football coach a week before he starts. That's his domain. So no, if Jurich is coming, I think they are going to line everything up where HE is the one who fires Manny, and hires Mario or whomever. They would be his press conferences, not anyone else's. Even if it's just rubber-stamping the obvious, it's going have his imprint on it. I see all that being lined up.

Not saying he's coming, not saying I know anything in particular, but all the stuff that people are swallowing whole lines up with what I think they would do to appease an A-list AD.

Jurich isn't the only good candidate, but this gridlock seems to be more about control and power vs the best candidate. The old guard was perfectly fine with Blake James until he went rogue on them and wanted to fire Manny. They lost control so he had to go.
Now, the old guard is feeling their power being chipped away and they're losing their grip on the program. This is the classic transfer of power struggle that happens when new blood is injected into an old, stale entity.

I didn’t say that.

It could work out in both scenarios, I just laid out the parameters for both situations.

It could also fail in both situations, it’s always a 50/50 proposition.
 
Jurich or Rad, period.

Jurich help build UL into a competent AD across most major sports.

Honestly, I would prefer Rad. He checks the boxes:

-Miami Alum (Check)
-Winning Pedigree? (Check)
From AD @ GT (2006-12)
GT Football winning 4 ACC Coastal Titles & 1 ACC Crown between his tenure

GT baseball winning the ACC & ACC Tourney once, making the CWS

GT basketball making the NCAA tourney

-We know what Clemson Football & Facilities has become under his watch

-Donations? At LSU, spearheaded the ticket donation program at LSU & instrumental in the $90m renno at LSU’s Football Field.
Clemson’s Athletic Dept has more than doubled since coming on board, making it one of the most valuable Universities, and led over $180m in facilities upgrades or establishment.

He’s the guy I want. Jurich is a little to slimy for me & been out the game, but what more would the BOT want from Rad? He’s from the ACC, led now TWO successful tenures as a AD, comes from the SEC pipeline, clean resume, and oh, he’s an alum.

I have a feeling that a Jurich-Highsmith combo will not be moving the Green Lot into a flood-prone cement parking lot on the other side of an 8-lane road...

And that will be a good thing...

The whole "puppet" thing is a bit overblown. It has a lot to do with familiarity vs. fear of the unknown. We haven't had an effective alpha AD since Sam Jankovich, so the old guard are not familiar with how well things can go when an AD is doing what he should be doing.

Agree, Manny was not the difference in this season. If we end up 7-5/8-5, that’s not Manny. We out scored these mfer’s, Manny’s D almost cost us these games. TVD and Lashlee won these games. Bytch, been riding the TVD Train.
