I was told Mullen was going to win big

Backtracking. Face the facts......
I thought he was a good hire for them but but but I knew with Saban there it was impossibly to win a championship. Also knew his weakness was recruiting which holds him back to reach that next level or tier of coaches. He's the type to do more with less but can't coach a big time program like that.....if u can't recruit and your just an x and O guy u won't win big at a big time program. Hopefully they keep him cause we don't need anymore competition on the coaching search.

I’m hit deflecting ****, I’m more worried about my trash coach and not a coach who has a far better resume. At a school that cares more about football. Mullen is a good coach that doesn’t recruit worth a ****. He’s a weird egomaniac but he’s one of the best x o guys of the last twenty years.

The ironic thing here is it’s mostly the slurpers living this , while defending one of the biggest corches in cfb.
It's almost insane that this post is spot on. Same slurpers won't rip Manny but one bad season and they destroy Mullen.......he's a great x and O guy but won't recruit and that will keep him exactly where he is. Think the higher ups at UF are figuring that out now

If you gave him the team Richt inherited from Golden when Mullen should've been the hire he would've done a **** of a lot better than Richt's one coastal here.

I think you make a good point. Doing more with less does not always equate to do more with more.

What happened?
Lol I love the idea that we have a **** coach a **** this a **** that, I think this year just shows us that college football parity is again at an all time high, and even your all exhausted Mullins, Sarks, Hermans etc can **** it up.

All power five teams, sans maybe a handful, are good enough to win any game on any day. It’s going to stay this way. 20 years ago the recruiting hotbeds were not getting picked over by every school in the country, and strength and nutrition programming were not as detailed and widespread as they are now.

Get out of the past, college football is now basically the NFL.

What I think it really shows, you only have a small group of really good coaches, that can adjust on the fly, have schemes that work even if not perfect fit. The others seem either too stubborn or just unwilling to adapt/change anything. Some really terrible college football being played. Perhaps Covid just disrupted everything and this is the result.

That's somewhere between debatable and bull****

Mullen is pretty much a low-ceiling, high-floor coach.

That's great for a traditional bottom-feeder like Mississippi State, but not for an iconic program with 5 National Championships and sky-high expectations.

Mullen is too petty and insecure to handle UM's fan base *****ing about back-to-back 10-2 and 11-3 seasons — which is the best a mediocre, disinterested recruiter like DM could ever do in Coral Gables.

Not to mention none of us here are foolish enough to think Mullen would've given 10 bucks to the IPF building fund or cut UM a break on his buyout when we eventually had to fire him when the football program stagnated.

Manny sucks but mullet is trash. Everything **** goes to ****......
33-13 isn’t trash. That’s my point. I told gator fans when he was hired “if you want titles that’s not happening, he’ll get you 8-11 wins a year with a good offense“. That’s what he is.

I know all about the guy from his last time around here. He’s not likable , he’s weird and turns people off with his arrogance. Which tells you recruiting will be an issue. But the guy can draw up plays like nobodies business.

I'm curious how does their roster stack up to ours right now?

I think we have just as much talent if not more.
No they have more talent up there..we have to QB room way more settled and figured out..but as far as their place in the SEC East compare to how we stack up in the coastal , I’d say we are identical..we have some talented athletes but struggles at the LOS to be consistent…difference is, imo our kids definitely play harder and more loose..them boys look like they have no confidence. Especially the QBs

QB- UM
RB- Not sure but if we get Channey back healthy with Thad I would say we are as good or better
WR- not sure who they got
TE - UM
OL - UF
DL - not sure
Safety -UM
LB - UF
DB - not sure
Kickers - UM

I may be wrong on some I'm sure

I think there is ONE, maybe TWO coaches in the country who can do the things you think of with robotic fashion.

I do think young people in general have a lack of concentration and look too much at headlines and Tik tok dances than being a consummate professional on and off the field. Winning in college football is not linear cause-effect, there is no guide that works perfectly.

He's a good offensive mind but hates recruiting. A good fit for the NFL. As opposed to Manny who sucks at coaching and preparation but is a slightly above average recruiter. I don't think anyone here proclaimed Mullen to be an awesome coach but he's definitely a more cerebral coach than Manny.

Let's play those MF'ers in a bowl game and settle it :bitelip:

Manny beats FSU next week and UF in a bowl game and I'll gladly send him a hand-written apology and a $50 Amazon gift card.

I’m not comparing us position by position..but if we do that I’d probably take that UF roster..aside from oline they have blue chip talent in each position from..just off pure talent. The only position we have over them is QB imo..**just checked 247 and as far as roster talent they’re 7th nationally..we are 13th..interesting enough the teams that rank 10-20 are:
10. USC
11.Texas
12. ND
13. Miami
14.AU
15. Michigan
16. Penn state
17.Washington
18. Unc
19.tenn
20. FSU
If your ranked 10-20 your really don’t seem talented enough to just roll over opponents. And those are teams that have some very good HCs

But my point was UF is in a similar place we are in the overall scope of the sec. and the issues stem from Inconsistent play on the LOS

A guy that doesn't like recruiting (but exists at a school that at least somewhat recruits itself) and is deemed by some a great x's and o's coach with a pedigree worthy of NFL consideration simply wouldn't appear on this list.

Dude is a glorified college coordinator whose ceiling is being a head coach at a school that has a ceiling on its own expectations (Miss St) OR being a coordinator under an authoritarian college head coach so as his own ****ty abrasive personality either would be muted or simply not as glaring.

Mullen looks great with a great QB. Without one, he struggles.

Dabo is a “savage” with a great QB. Without one, he struggles.

Big Ed wins a title with a great QB. Without one, he struggles.

Manny looks less retarded with a great QB. Without one, LOL.

This ain’t rocket science.
