This forum was born out of the lounge (off topic) section of miami scout board. Shout out to dmoni hating ***, who inspired I think @LuCane and @DMoney to build wez life raft (someone correct me if I am wrong).. Wez is still around but we got older and eventually had to square up and go corporate and break off from the frat house..

I vaguely remember Grassy and the old Scout.com with Mike Bakas I think it was? Wasn't much of an internet person back then.

Whatever did happen to those two sites. Did they just end up as part of a merger or what?

Our scout board was basically shut down because a lot of the poster there kept harassing the Washington huskie board and the admin for scout at the time was a huskie alumni

I was on Grassy daily..I was Orlando Cane13...then the environment just became too toxic here...you couldnt post one GD thing on here without some troll mocking every post. Not my scene man....now this environment, I can handle

We used to raid random forums and dmoni got all in a bunch if I am not mistaken right? :ibis-roflmao-sm3: I still remember the '09 fitness thread.. Got in shape and never looked back until covid knocked me off but bounce back last year.. Sheesh

I'd say it was more built out of the Canestime (grassy) premium board. We had great discussions and a lot of analysis there. I wrote for the site and was pretty close to the program in the years prior. D$ had connections even back then. D$'s now wife and my gf at the time are best friends. Even though we had our own places, we basically lived out of or were consistently watching sports out the same apartment for a year. We had already discussed doing our own thing. When the Lounge thing happened, I'd call it an opportunity or opening.

D$ made the move and commitment. I came up with the name. At the time, I was just beginning to get into tech startups, so I actually thought this could be a scalable concept about fans sharing pics and experiences and rating the pics for "points." Hence, CANES - IN - SIGHT play on Canes - Insight. So, imagine: Noles In Sight (and fans have a community where they share pics of themselves losing games). Anyway, that was never pursued. The message board was the driver. Some fantastic posters came over from different sites. D$ recruited @Andrew (who was on Canestime as a premium member), Peter, and others. The rest is history.
