I think coach Richt may actually have realized it's over

Horseschit. Speak for yourself, ***aloons try and speak for everyone else.

He looked like he wanted to cry. Pathetic.

Even if he did, I wouldn't call it pathetic, I would call it being human.

Every one of us, as we go through this thing called life, will ultimately realize something has passed us by. Whether that's in our personal lives or professional, eventually you just can't physically or mentally stay at the top of your game.

Mark is stellar human being. There is no question in my mind that him being a coach is more about the experience as well as being a mentor than it is about the money. It just so happens that he's also passionate about the sport and can do both.

He knows what they're doing right now isn't working. He's no less pleased than we are. If he could fall on a sword and save those around him, you better believe he'd do it. Again, that's the kind of man he is.

So had he cried, so be it. He's human, a **** good one at that, and while I want to be angry....I think I'll just be sad that his swan song in the sport doesn't look like it's going to have a happy ending. That's to bad for not only us, but Coach Richt even more.

He looked completely defeated. I think he realizes the gig is up. But he is not walking away from 4 Million a year, plus his son’s career. This program is ****ed for another 6 years. Total disaster.

Would you take Saban?

Same, exact age.

I hate to bring this to your attention - but outright ignorance is NOT the virtue you seem to think it is.

Saban is on top of a well oiled machine that is on a roll. Momentum in college football is a real thing.

Youd be asking a 68 year old whose best years were a decade ago to completely build a program. Totally different scenarios.

That scene with Trajan at the end of the game was pretty telling to me. He looks totally defeated, lost, and overwhelmed.

Maybe he does the honorable thing at the end of the season and retires because the game has completely passed him by.

He is here until 2021 minimum, wouldn’t be surprised to see him make it till the end of his contract (2023)

No! - he doesn't have 31 scholarship reductions!

He can take the talent we have now - and smoke the ACC! We should be doing it right now with the talent we have. But we don't have a coaching staff for ****.

Butch wants to win a NC at UM so bad he can taste it - and knows it would be very doable at UM.

richt don't give a **** about winning or Canes football. even ray charles could see that.

all he is interested in is helping his kid build a football resume and building the richt family retirement fund. period.

nice guy ? bull****.

Mark Richt is a great human being. He's a guy anyone would be happy to call a friend. I wouldn't debate that.
Doesn't change that he's a pathetic football coach right now. Crying about the bed he made. Crying because he had to lay in it. This isn't some sudden change of events. This has been a problem his entire tenure. He isn't a good play caller or game day coach.

Agreed! People see the 30 for 30 and think Butch is a coaching god. He was not a good gameday coach. He was not a good "X's and O's" guy. Butch Davis's gift was talent evaluation in both players and coaches. And at that he was exceptional!

I disagree. I think he had the best intentions coming here. It was the people tasked with hiring a coach that failed to evaluate him properly.

This is true...

He’s not going anywhere, only hope is that he makes drastic changes to offensive staff outside of Dugans
