…but if you’re upset after emasculating Napier and Norvell, beating our three biggest rivals, and sitting as possibly the #1 team in the country, you need a new hobby.

Yes, there is stuff to clean up during the bye week. We didn’t play well or coach well to end the game.

But if anybody is “sickened” or any other absurd emotions I’ve read on here, pop in a tape of the 2021 Alabama game.

A lot has changed. We’re the boss now. Enjoy it.

The individuals complaining about this win are likely the same people who blindly hate Cristobal. They won't be happy about anything until he is no longer the HC

Having said all that, this is not a team that will win a national championship. Too many flaws, especially offensively. Im watching this season just as I did last year, enjoying a fun ride until the wheels inevitably fall off. I'm just happy to have one entertaining football team to root for in my life

2021 Alabama blows those teams out ....

Not sure is serious..

Mario did something that hasn't been done in 38 years.

Another person who understands football and kudos to you. This was a horrific win.
“Another”. That would assume you know football, and as exposed FSU troll, we all know that is not the case. Back to back losses giving you flashbacks of last year? Don’t worry, 6-6 is a big improvement from 2-10. 🤣

Which teams have it all figured out and have a better shot at a national title?

A F**KING MEN!!! People will find literally anything to complain about.
After that first drive, we literally put that FSPoo team in a choke hold.
Like you said, of course there are things to improve on, but dam it feels good knowing we have guys all over the field that are playing at a great/near ELITE level (Bain, Thomas, Mesidor, Fitz, Toney, Daniels, etc.)

5-0 mother****ers. 5 easy wins and in all 5 games, there was about 7 minutes of real time where I thought a game was in doubt.

This team is real. Enjoy it.
I think one thing that should be able to unite both the mopes and sunshine bros on the board is Jakobe's quote after the game, one of the last questions was along the line of how is this team different than other ones you have been on in reference to him being a new transfer guy. His response was no one was happy in the locker room after coming away with a win against your rival in their house.

Bain looked mad on the sideline and that clearly poured over into the locker room. So I think both sides can agree 1. we dominated them for 3 quarters and still left a lot on the field in terms of dumb penalties and being a 1/2 second late and 2. that fourth quarter from the coaching, to execution, to discipline was unacceptable. Yes there is a counter or an excuse of course but what everyone should be happy is the team seems to know exactly who is in the mirror and are driven to fix it. I am all for the boys being ****ed off going into a bye after being 5-0.

Ryan Day while he won the NC with a 20 mil roster last year is not a great head coach or even a pretty good one. I think he wins mostly because of the talent discrepancy and his schedule in big ten isnt that great.
Ryan Days biggest job there is raising money and he does a really good job doing that

Not a surprise that once they turned over playcalling to someone more capable his team got over the hump

Wanted to follow up here. I was posting how Mario is a caveman after UF, how I would love to have an aggressive coach like Lanning, etc. On original watch, I thought Mario did nothing wrong in this game, but I had many drinks in me by the 4Q. Upon rewatch, I see the same thing. Not sure what everyone is panicked about.

Tommy C made some plays against a gassed defense. They converted 3 4th downs, the failure to get any of them would have iced the game. As far as the offensive playcalling, I get we were at the 40 going in twice, but why would you not lean on your OL that is the backbone of the offense? The running game started to soften them up towards the 2nd half of 3Q. We expected to lean on them in the 4Q. Again, pop a few runs for first downs and the game is over.

I saw nothing wrong with the coaching decisions here. This was a **** of a performance in a tough road environment.

A few general thoughts about the game:

Has CJ Daniels dropped a pass all year? That's what you want from your possession guy. CJ reminds me a lot of Keyshawn Johnson. Throw him the **** ball.

The defense is getting contributions from everyone. Justin Scott staying home and forcing a 4th and long. K Scott with the blitz pressure. DTs staying with the play and making tackles 10 yards downfield. 7 had his best game as a Cane. 8 looks all-ACC, making physical plays and contributing in coverage. That's to say nothing about 3 & 4. This defense swarms and everyone is buying in.

Beck still looks uncomfortable when he faces pressure. Luckily the OL gives him all day. We also don't face any nasty pass rushers. But something to keep an eye on when we get to the playoffs.

Bye week is coming at a good time. Team was gassed from chasing TC around all night. Basically cleared the bench on defense rotating fresh bodies in. Seems like we are pretty healthy for mid-October. Let's rest up and go take care of business in league play.

Ending of this game was embarrassing…

Go Canes…
That is a fact.

I also remember years and years on here and other places where criticizing areas of our performance in the hopes it would improve would be met with “enjoy the ride” “stop being negative”…and the good ole “we got the W didn’t we?”…

Jimmy J and Saban weren’t great because they were in the locker room celebrating the great things that happened in a game…they were ****ed about the **** that went wrong and they went to work.

ALL OF THAT SAID, I believe this squad will work to improve on that ending…it was just a little too close to the Notre Dame finish.
Maybe the team, like the fans, are having to learn how to deal with success again.

As for the crowd that says we should've kicked the FG:

You're facing a QB that is not built to drop back and throw. Combine that with 3 & 4 were in his kitchen all night. You already picked him off twice. They had no timeouts.

THe only thing that could've put the outcome in jeopardy was a fluke play like a blocked FG for 6 the other way.

Why "the book" said to go for it, idk. But situationally, against THIS PARTICULAR QB, you make him throw it down the field to beat you, which he would have had to do twice.

He didnt.

I believe that as well…

Miami scores to go up 28-3 with 3:53 left in the 3rd quarter. The game is over at this point, and your whole gameplan changes, essentially. Yeah yeah, we wanna win 50-3. Sounds cool. That's not how anyone on earth coaches or plays.

We still go out after this and force ANOTHER punt. Now the game is really, really over. We take over with 1:38 left in the 3rd quarter, deep in our own territory. You literally have ONE goal at this point. Don't turn the ball over. That's it. To this point, your defense has given up 3 points. You've won the game. The only way to lose it is to turn the ball over. This isn't Syracuse 2024, guys. The other ******* team had 3 points.

And for those of you saying, "LeeN oN yER RunnINg GamE"....**** do you think they did?

- Run by Lyle for 6
- Run by Lyle for 3
- Run by Brown for 2, first down, end of the 3rd quarter. Put your "fours" up, we won
- Run by Lyle for 2, but we get a holding call. Guess what? That probably ends this drive unless you get lucky, because you're not going to do anything dumb, and it's 1st and 18. That's not ******* caveman ball. That's not dumb coaching. That's not going into a shell. That's just an unfortunate penalty that stunts a drive. It happens. And guess what, because you're up Twenty-Eight to mother****ing Three, who cares?
- Another run, Lyle for 4 (We have now called 5 straight runs by the way, for those of you crying to lean into your run game. They've gained 17 yards, with a holding call mixed in)
- Safe pass to Daniels, doesn't work, loss of 2, clock runs
- Safe throw to Marion on an out route with no chance of getting the first down, I'd have actually liked to have seen another run here or safer throw to run clock but the ball is thrown well outside because our QB is smart, and won't turn it over
- We punt, and get a targeting call, so FSU gets a short field, and they score. Whoopty ******* do, it's the first TD of the night.

After the TD, they onside, and we have the ball at the FSU 43. This is the only drive where *maybe* I'll be 1% critical, but again, the only intention here is to burn clock and don't make a mistake. You're up by THREE scores, with your defense playing great. We run it twice, for basically nothing, and then get another holding call on a 3rd down throw, but the intention here is simply pin them deep. You got the ball on their 43, best case you get a couple first downs, worst-case you pin them deep. And we do, they get the ball at the 4. Again, if you want to nitpick this one a little, I'll listen. Could we have been a little more creative to try to get a couple first downs? The run game wasn't working all night. But under no circumstances are you putting the ball in harm's way

They go 96 yards, but it takes 5 minutes. Now it's a 2-score game. Get another onside kick, you're at the 39

- Run for Brown for 4, timeout #1
- I actually like this next decision, you know another interior run likely doesn't get you much and they still have 2 timeouts and the 2-minute, so they throw it. Incomplete
- Throw it again on 3rd down. Again, what do some of you want? You want to lean on the run? We did that. It did it's job, ran clock, but we didn't get first downs. You want to be aggressive. WE ARE, RIGHT HERE! A TON of coaches run it 2 more times, make them call timeouts, and maybe kick a FG if they have to. We didn't. We threw the ball twice, got into a 4th and 1, and went for it. And got it, on a penalty but I'm pretty sure Brown got the first down on the run anyway. 3 more runs, and you go for it on 4th and 8 with 1:10 left. Your win percentage is about 99.8% at this point. Strike up the band.

So, we were aggressive at times, but not too aggressive. If Mario kicks a FG there, and it gets blocked and returned for a TD, he would be skewered alive on this board. And rightfully so. Your defense is great, you take a shot to end the game, if you don't get it, they need to score TWICE on you in a minute with no timeouts. I'll take my chances.

Well played all around by the staff. We won the game at the end of the 4th quarter. Not a single impartial observer of this game thinks this was anything other than a Miami ***-whipping. Only on this board or FSU twitter will you find a single human who puts 0.1% stock into that "comeback". We kicked the **** out of them, period. And we coached very well in the process, in all facets, including managing the game.

Yes, CJ Dropped one that went right through both hands against the gator that would've been a first down at about their 25 yard line in the first half, and would've went a long way towards quelling the *****ing around here that we didn't beat them by enough points to everyone's liking.
He's been WAY better than I even thought he'd be, and I had pretty high expectations, but you did ask the question.

Forgot about that one. But yeah, point still stands, the guy has been nails.

I would trust Carson Beck to not put the ball in harm's way in that situation. I am not saying take deeps shots to the end zone, but I think there needs to be a discussion of "We have a short field, just pick up a couple first downs and it is game over." You know FSU is completely ignoring the pass on 1st and 2nd down. Everyone knows Miami is trying to burn clock. Why not try that pop pass to Toney they tried on 4th and 8? It was actually a great play call, completely open but the Toney got bumped by our OL. Beck is smart enough not to throw it if is covered. I am not one of the people saying Cristobal ordered Dawson to shut down the offense, but I think Dawson limited his playbook significantly. Dawson could have been a little more creative if he trusted Beck not to make a bad decision (and I just don't see him doing that given how he was playing). It is not unreasonable for Miami fans to have their brains go to the nightmare scenario where FSU recovers the last onside kick, throws a hail mary and wins the game. If talking about playing with fire, that possibility scared me more than Dawson dialing up a creative play on 1st or 2nd down and Beck throwing a pick.
