…but if you’re upset after emasculating Napier and Norvell, beating our three biggest rivals, and sitting as possibly the #1 team in the country, you need a new hobby.

Yes, there is stuff to clean up during the bye week. We didn’t play well or coach well to end the game.

But if anybody is “sickened” or any other absurd emotions I’ve read on here, pop in a tape of the 2021 Alabama game.

A lot has changed. We’re the boss now. Enjoy it.

The expectations of some fans are so astronomically unattainable that it almost becomes comical to the (relatively) sane fan. Anything short of undefeated with at least a 25 PPG advantage over the opponent is unacceptable. This isn’t a video game and video games aren’t real; yet here we are with the Mope Militia out in full force after a six point win, on the road, over our most hated rival who was also ranked #18, had beaten Alabama handily and had the nation’s top offense.

Where exactly did we play not to lose in the fourth we just didn’t execute, but the play calls were fine on defense. We didn’t make tackles and they converted three straight 4th downs. You’re acting as if we went run run run punt. And we were giving up 50 yard bombs that wasn’t the case.
What the **** are you talking about? We went run, run, pass and punted. Then we got the ball at their 43-yard line and went run, pass, run. Even Jimbo Fisher on the ACC Network telecast was saying that FSU was selling out against the run, and that the Canes could and should hit a big play against 1-in-1 coverage to seal the game. But instead we punted again and they scored again.

Then on our last real possession we started again at their 43-yard line again and went run, run, run and pass. Instead of kicking a short field goal, Mario and Dawson then decide to try a screen pass on 4th down, which failed miserably, and they quickly drive down the field and kick a FG.

We were fortunate to recover their onside kicks. If not, we likely lose because Mario decided to go into a shell with an extremely conservative approach during the last 10:01 of the 4th quarter. When the announcers are pointing it out, and it’s the 2nd time this season that Mario has done that, it’s a problem.

How was Fishers commentary on the ACC network broadcast? I listened to Kirk and Fowler

Yeah, GD Beck is the problem. He’s hurting our offensive production….. ah… oh wait.. that was against the other Florida team.. never mind. Yep, ain’t heard S**t about him today, nothing good or bad. Even tho he had a very good outing, 241 yds passing, 4 tds, 0 int’s. Not too shabby for a kid everyone said was a weak link, a problem. Give me that kinda problem every game, F**king Mopes

Cis after VT “ stfu we’re 5-0 and the defense had a bad night “

Cis after Cal “ stfu we’re 6-0 and we went across country and had a late game , the d is just fine, a win is a win“

Just saying , it’s ok to be upset at trends forming.
Only an Idiot wouldve said the D was “fine” after watching that Cal game..If the eye test doesn’t tell you that this team feels more complete on both sides of the ball then last years iteration by now idk what to tell you 🤷🏾‍♂️..I get y’all wanna see a blowout in the box score every week but football @ this level rarely works like that.

Being soft rather than putting an opponent away will bite us in the ***. We gave both UF and FSU an opportunity to beat us when we could’ve been up 3 tds.

We are easily the most complete team in CFB. I didn't like the end but when u 28-3 on one of the 10 best teams in the country you are the best team in cfb. The D just got gassed at the end and we went into our run run run offense like 3 minutes too early. Beyond that I doubt we win by less then 10 the rest of the season with maybe the GT matchup in ACCTG will be a game.

It was 50/50. He was fair at times, but was a major homer at times, too. On all of the bad penalties that they called us for in the 4th quarter he was screaming like a little girl, saying that they were good calls, when they were obviously atrocious.

But he kept saying that we should have been more aggressive in sealing the game when gifted the ball in their own territory on our last 3 possessions. He said that play calling was way too conservative, which I agree with.

As much as they're offense takes out of your defense you have to take some time off the clock while still running your offense because they can't go right back out there. But you're right there were shot plays available

Being pedantic only ND had a true opportunity to beat us. UF had the ball in the 4th to take the lead but there was plenty of time. FSU never controlled the ball in the 2nd half with a chance to take a the lead.

Your point stands though. We dominated the majority of all 3 games and they all ended up or played much closer than should have in the 4th quarter.

I understand not wanting to turn the ball over, but going ultra-conservative when having a team demoralized is a recipe for disaster. We should have at least tried to get in FG range after the first onside kick, but chose to run against loaded fronts and only gained 3 yards. It would have been a 57-yard FG attempt, so we punted, which I think was a good decision.

After the next onside kick, we should have hit them with a long pass play on that first down. They sold out and brought their safeties up to about 4 yards from our line of scrimmage. We instead chose to run against that loaded front. Even Jimbo was screaming that it was the perfect look to hit a big play against.

Don’t get me wrong, I love our team this season. But this approach, as @Cribby stated is too conservative. We have to try to find a happy medium. Same thing on defense.

Of course, it didn’t help that the refs were once again atrocious.

Ohio State is the best team in the country (so far), with the best defense and the best WR. Oregon probably 2. Oddsmakers, sharps, CFB ball knowers - Pretty much everyone is slotting it that way.

But heck, I (and they) would put us up there 3rd, and certainly at the table for discussion. And that means we’ve come a long way - we’ve certainly got the best résumé to date.

Yeah, I’d be the first to say there’s no reason FSU should have came back last night. But I’ll take the W and hope Mario’s thick skull can see this is a reoccurring issue. He did not look happy on the sidelines at all for that 4Q.

I’m slightly concerned about our All-World OL not generating enough push in the run game when we need it, but then again FSU was doing everything possible to take it away.

Here’s to 4 quarters of dominance against a weak and mediocre Louisville team.
Yeah to me clear separation between us/OSU/Oregon and everyone else

OSU has some issues but their schedule is goofy. They shouldn’t be threatened too much but same time with the way this season has gone who knows right? Their defense is crazy elite but they’ve got depth problems at DT and OL so they gotta stay healthy

I think most picked 8 or 9 wins right? (Edit I was incorrect there)

I think people are just having a bit of PTSD which I suppose I can’t blame them

After getting our asses kicked for 20 plus years I’m just enjoying every second I can when we win

Man it's one thing to be critical of how the fourth quarter went...that's totally fair!....BUT holy **** the language that some people here are using to describe the game it is INSANE to me.
Makes you wonder
