…but if you’re upset after emasculating Napier and Norvell, beating our three biggest rivals, and sitting as possibly the #1 team in the country, you need a new hobby.

Yes, there is stuff to clean up during the bye week. We didn’t play well or coach well to end the game.

But if anybody is “sickened” or any other absurd emotions I’ve read on here, pop in a tape of the 2021 Alabama game.

A lot has changed. We’re the boss now. Enjoy it.

Yeah to me clear separation between us/OSU/Oregon and everyone else

OSU has some issues but their schedule is goofy. They shouldn’t be threatened too much but same time with the way this season has gone who knows right? Their defense is crazy elite but they’ve got depth problems at DT and OL so they gotta stay healthy
Id put Alabama in that group. Ty Simpson looks like the best qb in the nation. I think they are closer to Miami than they are to ole Miss-type teams.

You can’t just pretend the FSU game didn’t happen but it might shake out that way
I just mean in terms of who I’d want to face, more accurately not want to face. I wouldn’t want to play bama. Whereas ole miss, A&M and anyone else doesn’t scare me. They are clear step down.

Ohio St
Miami
Oregon
Bama

ND
Texas Texh
Ole miss
A&M

Oklahoma with Mateer is probably right above ND but off this list without him.

U don’t implement cruise control by going 3 & out twice in a row and letting them score both times. No time taking off the clock and you allowed FSU to score 19 in the 4th

We went 3 and out once and that drive was killed by a holding penalty. The other drive had a first down and we were trying to run out clock. We made a great run with Fletcher on 3rd and long and had Daniels kept with his block, fletch may have gotten the 1st. I think the one argument you could have is going for the FG instead of 4th down play to Toney (which was open, btw).

Again, it's not about other teams. It's about the potential of this team. I don't give a s*** about other teams. You can see how great we can be. And people are mad that we're squandering an amazing team.
We are 5-0 with three top 20 wins. Point me to the squandering. If we need to revisit this in November, sure. But there has LITERALLY been no squandering.

Their is cause for concern with Mario going conservative. First, you can't turn on momentum, turn it off and then all of the sudden turn it back on. Mario is playing with fire, 3 times already and survived 3 times. Miami would be ranked #1 if Mario didn't go conservative and #1 matters in the playoff. It also could cost someone the Heisman which also matters. They can't make the fanbase tow the company line like they can with credentialed media.
Now in saying that, why waste time trying to come in here on Sat when the majority of the posting board is under the influence? Today, the anger they had last night is gone, but their feelings and thoughts will be the same like mine. I already know everything was awesome here when it was 28-3 and it turned to filth when Maria went conservative.

I posted that you don’t want to keep it close when a team has a qb like Midget.
We’ve seen it too many times in cfb.
From Flutie, Watson, Manziel, Jackson etc…teams that are mid beating up on more talented teams because you can’t contain dudes like that for 4 qtrs.

You can’t cover for 10 seconds. You can’t plan for the improvisation of a dude that can scramble and either find an open guy or run for 15.

He sucks as a pure passer but he’s a nightmare when plays breaks down.

FSU basically said hey short king go do what you do.

However, the offense going limp like that is either deliberate or a fckng problem that keeps popping up.

To me it’s likely deliberate because it has happened every dam game!

FSU didn’t just look at the iPad and move a few dudes around and stop a team for a whole qtr.

So my question, if it isn’t some miraculous adjustment, why is our offensive staff so adamant in going full virgin till I marry conservative after going up big?
Is Mario sucking up to the refs?
Does he not want the ncaa or any conference to get upset that we are embarrassing people?
Because it sure as hail isn’t helping with the holding calls.

I’m not going to take much stock in this game.

I see this as playing GT back in the day against Paul Johnson. Just stop them, get the win and go home healthy. Seems like we did that.

We are only playing at 65-75% of what we can with so much left on the bone and we are crushing teams, physically and coaching wise… until that 1 quarter when the refs decide to intervene.

Great win. 5-0. Go canes

I watched the fourth quarter again this morning and as DMoney said, there is plenty to clean up, but I don't know how you can watch that and say Mario got conservative, at least on offense. He threw it on 2nd down after a solid first down run and chose to go for it on 4th and 8 (play would have worked) instead of kicking a field goal (which I thought they should have done to force a TD).

Quite frankly, although I thought the defense was a little soft down the stretch, FSU also converted a bunch of fourth downs, completed passes (the one to Danzy in btw three guys) that usually aren't completed and generally only had success when Castellanos was doing scramble drill. They also benefitted from a bunch of personal foul penalties (Day and Blount).

We got a little sloppy and lost some focus, but I think calling the coaching staff conservative is a lazy take here.

Well that just makes me even more mad, bc at first I was putting it all in the offense. Now that I was wrong on how I thought that quarter went i am even more disappointed. Both sides of the ball are to blame for allowing FSU to put up 19pts in a qt.
