I love d$ but I hope he’s off the arch love fest after this…

Arch isnt great, tough decision on whether to enter the draft this year or next, both years hes going to be at worst top 3 QB off the board. Does he risk an injury to end up worse off for NIL money? Or just jump in now and be a year closer to the second NFL contract? This one imo is a tough decision. if i was him itd probably enter this year.

Processing isn’t genetically passed on, it’s not something that can handed over to you lol. Its either you have it or you don’t
Lol i am aware. I meant it in the sense that he has had a lifetime of the best teachers and has been around the game forever. This is not some raw kid learning the game. Not that he has a gene to process defenses.

I understand, but you can’t teach someone how to process the game. You can know the ins and outs and still be Dan Orlovsky on the field

I disagree with he would be playing at La Tech. We seen Anthony Richardson at Florida and Drew Allar at Penn State. Arch has the physical tools like those other two. And power 4 teams will always think they can get the max out of anyone with physical tools
I don't think his tools are great imo. He has a good not great arm, and he can run but he's not a dynamic athlete. Anthony Richardson is a terrible QB but if we're comparing just the physical tools, Richardson is by far the more talented QB. Arch has been in the same system surrounded by blue chip players for four years and he's still an erratic passer who seems to struggle to see the field well. Maybe the light bulb goes off as the year goes on or next year.

If Arch transferred to Miami next yr I bet you he’d be great and be the #1 pick in 2028. Call it based off his name or whatever. Regardless how bad he’s been this yr I’d bet with us he’d be good.

Thats not to say I’d prioritize him in portal as id pick Austin Simmons over him. Depending on how much NIL (does he even receive big NiL?) I may take Braden Atkinson over him too…. In fact if Arch was willing to take lower NIL, I actually thing that’d be pretty strong.

Like who wants to be Watch could transfer to Indiana next season and they’d be elite again?

Certainly plenty of transfers worse imo. Depends on NIL to me.

I keep hearing the “GMs will value his last name” line.

When does that actually happen? The last time I heard this was with Eli Manning, who ended up winning two Super Bowls and throwing for a million yards.

If anything, these legacy first rounders actually overperform relative to the average first round pick (McAffrey, Watt, Matthews x2, Horn, Surtain).
lol the same Eli Manning that never won a playoff game besides two incredibly fluky SB runs buoyed by a great DL? The throwing for a million yards add-in was hilarious. Eli is one of the most overrated QBs ever. Playing in NY and being a Manning did heavy lifting.

The Manning's gave us this gem

“Never won a playoff game aside from his two Super Bowl runs” is a new level of Manning hate. I’m impressed.

Lmao at “besides two incredibly fluky SB runs”

Yea, other than beating Brady and the Patriots twice in the SUPER BOWL, he’s sucked

Arch is a legitimate pro prospect. Not on the Mensah or Mestemaker level, but still legitimate and probably a third rounder at this point. I believe he would do well in Dawson’s offense. The Texas scheme is garbage and so is the coaching he’s getting.

I just don’t get the love fest for him.

His mechanics are bad, his footwork isn’t good. His arm strength is OK, his accuracy is meh. I get that some of those things can be fixed ( and accuracy issues are tied to his mechanics), but all he really has going for him is he’s athletic, but so are half the QB’s in CFB.

Yes, the guy with a career average QBR of 55.6, where the league average is 50 is a “new level of Manning hate”. We were all there. Remarkably average QB with a great last name and big city behind him.

He appears to be one of the most overrated QB prospects in college football history. Touted for so long BEFORE getting into college and 99.9999% based on his name. It is embarrassing;

Cognitive ability is heritable.
His environment though, Manning U, is a tremendous plus for him.

4th quarter against a decent O$U squad he made some good throws and good decisions to help lead his team to victory.

But yes, in the grand scheme of things he is just an average QB.
