I have been wrong about our closes in the past, BUT...

I am not getting my hopes up just yet...but I am confident that a seasoned, successful coach like Richt can assure a much better signing day than what we've seen under Golden and Shannon which were historically trash. I don't expect a homerun, but I do expect a solid, workmanlike close that fills all of our slots...if Richt hits for the cycle, then give'em the crown, but a nice 3-of-4, 3 RBI day is a nice change of pace from the trash we've gotten late in the year. At least momentum is there and we are trending up on many recruits.

Weve had top 15 classes under Shannon and Golden, Unless we finish top 10 I see no difference in crootin

Miami should be Top 15 every single year...its South Florida...its about coaching the guys we DO get up at the college level. Its also about perception. Closing with 5-6 legit targets on signing day, getting into the Top 15 (or Top 10) versus swinging and missing and going from #8 class to the #15 on signing day matters when it comes to perception and how we are portrayed by the media coverage on that day. Looking silly by missing on Matthew Thomas and not getting Skai Moore versus "flipping" an Alabama commit and "winning" several battles on signing day is such a huge difference to the media and how we are presented as a program regardless if the numerical ranking is about the same.

This is a good class now, being REALISTIC, and if we close like we think we can, with Pouncey, Thomas, Mcfarland, etc., it will be a very good to excellent class.

LOL if you type it they will come... Man please yall mufuggas gonna be just like this come signing day

If they dont come proceed to cuss them out or say they weren't raised right or blame the ****** crootin on coaches.

The glass half full guys will claim that we still have a **** of a crootin class and remind us of the guys who truly wanted to be canes and we didnt want anybody who didnt want to be canes anyway.

Been like this goin on what 11 years now?

We finish top 10 Im ecstatic
We finish top 15 im meh
We finish below 15 theres a problem

Good lord, can your mopey a$$ wait until NSD?

No because he will still point out how his boy Jimbo and fsu still had a better class even if we finish top 10....

Is it not the truth though. Once againFSU will have a better class than Miami.

Gotta get McFarland, Dean, one of Thomas/Smith, one of Pouncey/Harley, one of Henderson/Edwards/Herbert. Then it's a good close. Anything less will be disappointing. Anything more and my bung hole will quiver for a week. I agree with 100%. This has the feeling of those early 2000 classes where we start NSD in the 20s and finish in the top 10.

dude shut the h*** up!!

No such thing anymore. If a kid even looks at an LOI from the U, instant 3 star from 5 lol

After three JV coaching staffs in a row, we finally have a varsity staff.

It should clearly lead to better results and I agree that we will finish well - including Thomas who will be a difference maker here....

...I think CMR and Co. are going to pull off a great close and class this year. I don't know exactly who will be Canes on NLOI day, but I believe that we are going to be happy. These coaches are putting in the work, and I applaud them for it, and I think they will be rewarded for it.

20 commits w 10 EEs?

We have enough room to sign as many as Richt wants to, right? 15?

We won't add that many, but adding 7-8 targets would surely land us top ten.

I 1000% agree with the OP but not based on our perception that they're putting in work. I've been fooled by that visual assessment in the weeks leading up to NSD too many times in the past. I think we finish strong because we freakin' finally finished strong as a team AND have a legit nationally respected staff.

I'm honestly happy with a top 20 class knowing we finally have competent coaching from the top down that will actually develop the talent or the first time in years.

I'm not concerned with class ranking as it subjective with how many commits you have. we not going to be where we want to be until we start getting at least 50% blue chip (5* or 4*) classes.

Right now we are at 6 of 19 (i'm not counting kickers, punters, or LS) or 32%.

For some comparison:

Bama is at 20 of 23 90%,
Ohio is at 18 of 19 95%,
FSU is at 9 of 21 45%,
Clemson is 10 of 13 77%
Washington is 9 of 15 60%

(numbers based on 247 composite rankings)

I chose the 4 playoff teams and our archrival but clearly we have some work to do

and before someone reply, yes some kids play above or below their ranking but its been proven that stars matter

Randy's first class was extremely highly ranked. Not sure if any of the services had it ranked #1 , but a lot had it in the top 4 or so. I remember being very excited about it. It seems to have been vastly overrated.

Yep I have felt this since this summer. You could tell Richt was building our best class in a decade and it will only get better once we really start winning.

It's painfully obvious you're looking for any reason to complain. Miami had plenty of top 10 classes under Coker and you know how that worked out. I agree, a top 10 class is incredibly important but that doesn't mean we aren't getting any dawgs in this one.

This is one you could win with Vegas on a lot.

i agree, except for the part about being happy. Nothing will ever make this place happy.

I like it that way, builds champions.
